KORONADAL CITY - Makikita ang 18 mga barangay sa South Cotabato na dengue hotspot sa mga bayan ng Surallah, Polomolok, Sto. Nino, Norala, Koronadal, Tupi at Tantangan.

Kinumpirma ito ni Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Alah Baby Vingno. Ayon kay Vingno nakatutok ngayon ang fogging at misting operation ng provincial health office sa mga dengue hot spot sa lalawigan. Dinagdag din ni Vingno na 91 mga barangay sa South Cotabato ay mayroong clustering ng dengue cases.

DAVAO CITY - At least 300 participants from three Mindanao regions have joined the 5^th public consultation for the finalization of Universal Health Care (UHC) Law’s Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) here over the weekend.

They are health providers and health stakeholders from the Caraga, Soccsksargen and Davao regions.

UHC was signed into in February but its full implementation starts once the IRR is completed.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - To reduce erroneous transactions and entries which will result to an increase in posted remittances and reports to the collection database, improve compliance to corporate policies, understand the implication of underpayments/selective reporting vis-à-vis recovery of unwarranted claims, and address Employer/PEERs issues and concerns on PhilHealth premium contribution related policies, PhilHealth 12 set a series of PEER’s Forum with employers in the Region in July this year.

KORONADAL CITY  – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth 12) has recently filed charges against three employers for not remitting of their employees’ contribution to the corporation.

This is the result of the corporation’s continuing campaign against fraud as it is about to implement the Universal Health Care Program (UHCP).

Atty. Jusen E. Lubaton, former PhilHealth 12 Legal Office Head, said that PhilHealth office has been trying to negotiate.

DATU HOFFER, MAGUINDANAO  - The provincial health office of Maguindanao launched on Tuesday, July 16, a five-day free medical services dubbed ‘Gamutan Pangkalahatan: Isang harirayang handog sa mamamayan ng Maguindanao’ at the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital in Datu Hoffer Ampatuan municipality.
 
Maguindanao Health Officer Dr. Tahir Sulaik said “the Gamutang Pangkalahatan is an annual activity of IPHO-Maguindanao aimed at serving the 36 municipalities of Maguindanao and neighboring provinces.”
 

MAGUINDANAO  --- Nine of the 669 people from different towns in this province afflicted with Dengue fever from between January to June 2019 succumbed to the mosquito-borne disease.

Reports obtained by radio stations in Cotabato City from the Integrated Provincial Health Office-Maguindanao indicated that there were 669 Dengue cases from January to June this year, higher that the 393 cases listed last year.

Maguindanao’s provincial health chief, physician Tahir Sulaik, and municipal health offices in the province are now cooperating extensively in addressing the concern.

COTABATO CITY -- The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) of North Cotabato is asking the public to help curb the rising cases of dengue in the area.

North Cotabato provincial health chief Dr. Eva Rabaya made the appeal on Friday after their office listed 10 deaths due to dengue with 2,832 dengue cases across the province as of June 21 this year.

In comparison, Rabaya said North Cotabato only listed 911 dengue cases with five deaths from January to June 21 in 2018.

The sustained good health governance agenda of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong City paved way for it to be declared as 2019 Champion for Health Governance (CHG), making it three times in a row, and subsequently holding the rare distinction as the first LGU Hall of Fame awardee.

Tacurong is in a league of its own by also winning the biennial award in 2015 and 2017. The city was the first back-to-back winner since the institutionalization of CHG in 2013.

MANILA - For Filipino women, Natural Family Planning (NFP) is deemed important as 18 percent still demand for modern NFP methods, alongside other Family Planning (FP), thus reiterating the country’s unmet need for FP.     

The month of May every year is marked as Natural Family Planning Month with this year’s theme “Pamilyang Planado, Panalo!” encouraging couples to plan their families.   

The 2017 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) showed that poor and less educated women continue to have more children than they planned.
