OMIs in Ukraine help civilians get food, soldiers in defending towns

MGA KATOLIKO sa Ukraine, ayaw umalis sa Kyiv kasama ang mga Oblate priest at mga Ukranians kahit panay ang abante ng Russia.

Ito ang sinabi ni Maria Teresa Shybanova ng St. Nicholas Catholic Cathedral sa Kyiv sa panayam ng Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation.

Ang 25-taong gulang na si Teresa ay kasamang nanindigan at ipagtanggol ang kanilang lungsod sa anumang paraan, kabilang ang pagharap sa mga tangke de giyera ng Russia.

OMI-run parish in Caloocan to disperse rabbit, hosts rabbit raising seminar

CALOOCAN CITY - Upang mapakain ang mas maraming nagugutom ilulunsad ng Shrine of Our Lady of Grace Parish ang Rabbit Dispersal Project sa Caloocan City  ngayong darating na Martes, ika-26 ng Oktubre sa pangunguna ni Fr. Eduardo “Ponpon” Vasquez, Jr., OMI.

Target ng parokya ng Our Lady of Grace na mamahagi ng mga rabbit sa loob ng isang taon sa 100,000 pamilyang mahirap at interesadong matuto na  mag-alaga ng kuneho at gawing bahagi ito ng kanilang hapag at hanap-buhay.

Cotabato Archbishop Lampon ordains Rev. Joseph Nadua to priesthood

COTABATO CITY - Rev. Joseph Castro Nadua was ordained priest today by Cotabato Archbishop Angelito Lampon, OMI, DD during ceremonies held at Archbishop Mongeau Chapel, Notre Dame University in Cotabato City.

The 39-year-old Rev. Nadua is the elder brother of Fr. Jefferson Nadua, OMI.

Rev. Joseph as he is more known among Oblates was born on March 25, 1982 in Barangay Kilada, Matalam, North Cotabato.

His parents, Pepito and Sonia, are both active in Catholic Church in Matalam and they have great influence on Rev. Joseph’s vocation.

Fr. Eliseo “Jun” Mercado, OMI (1948-2021)

COTABATO CITY - "We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved Fr. Eliseo “Jun” Mercado, passed away earlier today. Fr. Jun was a religious leader and teacher who impacted countless individuals and communities around the world. He was a cherished brother, uncle, and great uncle to many. We are grateful for all your support, prayers, and tributes during this most difficult time."

These were word from Fr. Juns niece, Rita Mercado now based in the US.

OMI Jubilarians 2020: 5 Oblates celebrate ordination and religious life

COTABATO CITY - Five Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) stationed in Manila District celebrated their ordination and religious life on Saturday.

The OMI Jubilarians 2020 are Fr. Ricahrd Weixelman celebrating his 60 year religious life and Fr. Eduardo Vasquez Jr who celebrated his 25 year religious life.

Fathers Phil Estrella and Raul Biasbas celebrated their 40 year ordination and Fr. Jaime del Rosario his 25 year ordination to priesthood.    

Cotabateño is the new OMI provincial superior

COTABATO CITY - The Philippine Province of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate has a new Provincial superior, Fr. Peter Stoll, OMI, General Councillor, Region of Asia-Oceania said in a statement.

"Father superior general has received the consent of his councillors to appoint Fr. Gerry delos Reyes, OMI as provincial of the Philippine Province for the next three years," Fr. Stoll said.

Bishop Inzon installed as Jolo bishop in the renovated cathedral

COTABATO CITY - Filipino Bishop Charlie Inzon of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate was officially installed as the new vicar of the Apostolic Vicariate of Jolo in Sulu during a special mass coinciding with the feast of our Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Thursday.

His installation has been rescheduled due to health protocols being observed across the country.

COTABATO CITY - The Notre Dame University community, led by university president Fr. Francis Zabala, OMI in Cotabato City on Wednesday held a send off mass for Bishop Charlie Inzon, OMI who will be going to Jolo to start his mission as leader of the flock in Jolo vicariate.
