18 young men accepted to Oblate pre-novitiate

Today, July 10, 2024 is the Rite of Acceptance to the Pre-Novitiate of future priests of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Eighteen young men were accepted to the Pre-Novitiate Formation during the celebration presided by Fr Gerry Delos Reyes, OMI, the Provincial Superior in the Philippine Province.

These 18 postulants would be accompanied by Fr Ronald Abad, OMI, the Pre-Novitiate Formator.

“We thank you for your support and prayers for more Vocations. Let us continue to pray for more laborers in God’s vineyard,” the OMI said in a statement.

OMI first profession of religious vows and acceptance to the OMI Novitiate

COTABATO CITY - LIMANG MGA OBLATE NOVICES ng nagsagawa ng kanilang first profession of vows sa Oblates of Mary Immaculate kahapon.

Ito ay sina:

Brother Ferstinus Kavangu, OMI na mula Vicariate of Rundu, Namibia;

Brother Emmanuel Kausakanekua, OMI ng Archdiocese of Windhoek, Namibia;

Brother Zhuntyll George Bargo, OMI at Brother Jomar Villarosa, OMI na kapuwa taga Archdiocese of Cotabato, at

Brother Alfonso Chuidian, OMI ng Diocese of Imus, Cavite.

Oblates welcome 2 new priests

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato - The Oblates of Mary Immaculate on Saturday welcomed two deacons to the congregation after they were ordained to the priesthood by Cotabato Archbishop Angelito Lampon, OMI, DD at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Sto Nino here on Saturday.

The presbyteral ordination of Rev. Jericho Balberia Veñarta, OMI from the Archdiocese of Palo, Leyte and Rev. Fidel Italio Talabon, OMI of the Diocese of Kidapawan was attended by Oblate bothers and priests and thousands of parishioners.

Fr. Mon Bernabe, itinalaga bilang bagong presidente ng Notre Dame of Midsayap College

PORMAL nang umupo bilang bagong pangulo ng Notre Dame of Midsayap College si Fr. Ramon Bernabe, OMI kapalit ni Fr. Jonathan Domingo.

Siya ang pang-12 pangulo ng NDMC, ang kauna-unahang Notre Dame school sa bansa at sa Asia na itinayo ng mga Oblate missionaries noong June 13, 1941. 

Kahapon, ginawa ang investiture ni Fr. Bernabe o mas kilala bilang Father Mon. 

Nanguna sa installation program si Oblate provincial superior Fr. Gerry delos Reyes at iba pang Oblate priests.

OMIs in Ukraine help civilians get food, soldiers in defending towns

MGA KATOLIKO sa Ukraine, ayaw umalis sa Kyiv kasama ang mga Oblate priest at mga Ukranians kahit panay ang abante ng Russia.

Ito ang sinabi ni Maria Teresa Shybanova ng St. Nicholas Catholic Cathedral sa Kyiv sa panayam ng Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation.

Ang 25-taong gulang na si Teresa ay kasamang nanindigan at ipagtanggol ang kanilang lungsod sa anumang paraan, kabilang ang pagharap sa mga tangke de giyera ng Russia.

OMI-run parish in Caloocan to disperse rabbit, hosts rabbit raising seminar

CALOOCAN CITY - Upang mapakain ang mas maraming nagugutom ilulunsad ng Shrine of Our Lady of Grace Parish ang Rabbit Dispersal Project sa Caloocan City  ngayong darating na Martes, ika-26 ng Oktubre sa pangunguna ni Fr. Eduardo “Ponpon” Vasquez, Jr., OMI.

Target ng parokya ng Our Lady of Grace na mamahagi ng mga rabbit sa loob ng isang taon sa 100,000 pamilyang mahirap at interesadong matuto na  mag-alaga ng kuneho at gawing bahagi ito ng kanilang hapag at hanap-buhay.

Cotabato Archbishop Lampon ordains Rev. Joseph Nadua to priesthood

COTABATO CITY - Rev. Joseph Castro Nadua was ordained priest today by Cotabato Archbishop Angelito Lampon, OMI, DD during ceremonies held at Archbishop Mongeau Chapel, Notre Dame University in Cotabato City.

The 39-year-old Rev. Nadua is the elder brother of Fr. Jefferson Nadua, OMI.

Rev. Joseph as he is more known among Oblates was born on March 25, 1982 in Barangay Kilada, Matalam, North Cotabato.

His parents, Pepito and Sonia, are both active in Catholic Church in Matalam and they have great influence on Rev. Joseph’s vocation.

Fr. Eliseo “Jun” Mercado, OMI (1948-2021)

COTABATO CITY - "We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved Fr. Eliseo “Jun” Mercado, passed away earlier today. Fr. Jun was a religious leader and teacher who impacted countless individuals and communities around the world. He was a cherished brother, uncle, and great uncle to many. We are grateful for all your support, prayers, and tributes during this most difficult time."

These were word from Fr. Juns niece, Rita Mercado now based in the US.

OMI Jubilarians 2020: 5 Oblates celebrate ordination and religious life

COTABATO CITY - Five Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) stationed in Manila District celebrated their ordination and religious life on Saturday.

The OMI Jubilarians 2020 are Fr. Ricahrd Weixelman celebrating his 60 year religious life and Fr. Eduardo Vasquez Jr who celebrated his 25 year religious life.

Fathers Phil Estrella and Raul Biasbas celebrated their 40 year ordination and Fr. Jaime del Rosario his 25 year ordination to priesthood.
