Rape suspect, 2 child molesters arrested in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY --- Police agents arrested a rape suspect and two alleged child molesters in separate operations in South Cotabato province last weekend, the provincial police said Tuesday. 

The first to fall was an 18-year-old male resident of Tantangan town in South Cotabato wanted for rape by the Regional Trial Court Branch 26 in nearby Surallah town in the province.


Gunmen shot dead woman in broad daylight in Maguindanao

Kinilala ang biktima na si Babay Cabo Ungka, 38 years old at taga Barangay Poblacion Dalican ng nasabing bayan.


3 motorcycle thieves nabbed in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY --- Investigators are now preparing criminal charges against three motorcycle thieves arrested one after another in law-enforcement operations here this week.

The Cotabato City Police Precinct 1 is now in custody of suspects Datu Orak Aragasi, Najer Haron Abdulkadir and Ben Cabaluna Abdullah.

They readily confessed to their having stolen motorcycles in the city in recent weeks.

The three suspects were nabbed in a series of raids by a police team under Major Elexon Bona, chief of the Cotabato City Police Precinct 1.

Kinilala ni Polomolok PNP deputy cheif Lt. Reden Cuevas ang mga biktima na sina Usdad Cossain, 55 anyos, Jerome Retuta, 29 anyos, at Peter Espada, 41 anyos, pawang mga mekaniko at residente ng nasabing lugar.


Mild blast rocks bus in Kidapawan

KIDAPAWAN CITY  – Police authorities here have intensified security measures following a foiled arson attack against a passenger bus here Thursday.

Lt. Colonel Lauro Espida, Kidapawan City police director, said tighter security measures are already in place following the mild explosion inside the Davao Metro Shuttle Bus while parked at the Kidapawan City Overland terminal at about 3 p.m.

A mild explosion followed by smoke emitting from a bag left unattended sent some passengers running for their lives and yelling a bomb had just exploded.


2 drug dealers killed, another arrested in South Cotabato 

KORONADAL CITY --- Anti-narcotics agents shot dead two recalcitrant drug peddlers and arrested another in separate operations Thursday in South Cotabato province.

In a statement Friday, the South Cotabato Provincial Police Office here identified the slain drug traffickers as Orly Abpit and his relative, Jay-ar Abpit.

They died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in a shootout with agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 and police personnel who tried to entrap them at Purok Hechanova in Barangay Poblacion in Polomolok, South Cotabato.


Guns, P1.7 M worth shabu seized from 26 suspects in Lanao Sur 

COTABATO CITY --- The police arrested 26 wanted persons, seized 15 firearms, explosives and P1.7 million worth of shabu in separate operations in Lanao del Sur province Tuesday.

Police Col. Rex Derilo, Lanao del Sur provincial police director, said the 26 suspects in different crimes, including drug trafficking murder and theft, are now detained, awaiting prosecution.

Policemen shot dead on the same day in Balabagan, Lanao del Sur another wanted person for resisting arrest.


2 women detained for possession of grenades, shabu

SOUTH COTABATO -- The police detained for possession of fragmentation grenades and shabu two women suspected of having links with the New People’s Army in the town of T'boli.

Kristine Kala, 22, and the 20-year-old Carla Lasib were flagged down Monday at a checkpoint in T’boli town in South Cotabato only for an inspection of their COVID-19 contract-tracing cards.

Police Major Irish Parangan, chief of the T’boli municipal police, said Tuesday the duo were held for showing fake contact-tracing cards.


5 in drug ring entrapped in Maguindanao

MAGUINDANAO --- Five drug dealers got clamped down after selling P148,800 worth of shabu to non-uniformed government agents in sting Tuesday in Datu Odin Sinsuat town.

Suspects Datu Kadali, Normia Camsa Salazar, Anton Vasquez Abo, Thobie Sultan Guiambangan and Jomar Andong Liwa are now detained in a facility in Cotabato City of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.


Owner of unlicensed gun dead, CIDG agent hurt in shootout

MAGUINDANAO --- An owner of an unlicensed shotgun was killed while a policeman was wounded in a brief shootout in Montawal town Friday.

Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region were forced to neutralize the recalcitrant Saidali Sansaluna when he grabbed the pistol of Patrolman John Paul Quitoriano and shot him in the butt.
