Abu Sayyaf sub-leader killed in Tawi-Tawi clash

MANILA – A sub-leader of the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) was killed in a counter-terrorism police operation in Tawi-Tawi province early Tuesday.

In a media interview at Camp Crame, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil said Udon Hasim was killed in a 30-minute firefight with members of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and Intelligence Group (IG) in Barangay Lahay-Lahay in the town of Tandubas at about 5 a.m.

COTABATO CITY - Plainclothes policemen seized before dawn Friday P8.1 million worth of shabu from a dealer in Zamboanga City who reportedly has contacts in other southern provinces.

Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding, director of the Police Regional Office-9, was quoted as saying that shabu dealer Jul-Akmad Abbo Eling was immediately detained after selling almost one and one-fourth kilo of shabu, worth P8.1 million, to non-uniformed policemen during an entrapment operation at Upper HB Home in Barangay Sinunuc in Zamboanga City.


Another bloody Basilan clan war settled amicably

COTABATO CITY - Army officials and local executives in Basilan on Tuesday settled amicably another deadly clan war in the province, ending hostility between protagonists whose clashes had affected thousands of innocent villagers.

Basilan Gov. Jim Salliman and the director of the Bangsamoro regional police, Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn, separately announced on Wednesday the reconciliation of the feuding Lajid and Jakilan clans in Al-Barka town through the intercession of Brig. Gen. Alvin Luzon, commander of the Army’s 101st Infantry Brigade and local executives.


P1.1-M worth shabu seized in Pagadian City

COTABATO CITY - Non-uniformed policemen seized P1.1 million worth of shabu from a 19-year-old dealer entrapped in a residential area in Pagadian City on Tuesday.

The Pagadian City Police Office and the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Police stated in separate reports Wednesday that the male suspect was immediately detained after selling P1.1 million worth of shabu to anti-narcotics agents during an entrapment operation in Purok Malipayon in Barangay Dao, laid with the help of local officials.


P108-M worth of shabu seized by PDEA-9 agents in Zamboanga City

COTABATO CITY - Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized P108 million worth of shabu from a dealer entrapped in Barangay Canelar in Zamboanga City on Friday night.

Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc, director of PDEA-9, told reporters on Saturday morning that their agents immediately detained peddler Alnasher Jumdain Mudah, 42, after selling to them 16 kilos of shabu in a tradeoff near a shopping mall in Barangay Canelar in Zamboanga City.


Drug den shut, shabu dealer nabbed in 2 Mindanao PDEA operations

COTABATO CITY - Anti-narcotics agents shut a drug den in Pagadian City and entrapped a long-wanted shabu peddler in Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur in separate operations in two days.

Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9, told reporters on Thursday that their agents had arrested five individuals, four of them minors, while together inside a drug den in Purok Upper Lumboy in Barangay Tuburan in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province that they raided on Monday.


6 armed villagers wounded in Basilan ambush incident

COTABATO CITY - Ambushers seriously wounded six men in a rival group in an attack early Saturday in Sitio Lessem, Barangay Bato-Bato, Akbar, Basilan.

The Akbar Municipal Police Station, in an initial report on Saturday to Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, stated that the wounded Ryan Latip, Abubakar Latip, Jemar Kalang, Husin Kalang, Ajim Jamaluddin and Nasser Algafar were immediately brought by emergency responders to a hospital in nearby Lamitan City for treatment.
