ITCZ to bring rains over parts of Visayas, Mindanao Saturday

MANILA – Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Western and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, and the Bangsamoro region due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said Saturday.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ or localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin.

Trough of LPA to bring rain showers over Mindanao

MANILA – The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility will bring rain showers over most parts of Mindanao, the weather bureau said Monday.

The LPA, last tracked 474 km. east-southeast of General Santos City, has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, said Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

He said the LPA's trough would cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over many areas in Mindanao.

MANILA – The weather bureau on Friday said generally fair weather will continue to prevail over most parts of the country.

Isolated rain showers in the afternoon may still be experienced due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the chance for a tropical cyclone to develop within the Philippine Area of Responsibility is less likely throughout the weekend.

FORECAST:

Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast with moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 4.0 meters) prevails on the western section of Mindanao. Elsewhere, light to moderate winds from northeast to north with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters).

MANILA – Three weather systems will bring rain across the country on Wednesday, the weather bureau said.

In its 5 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area last tracked 295 km. east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and the shear line will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, the Visayas and Mindanao.

On the other hand, the northeast monsoon will bring rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro.

MANILA – The low-pressure area (LPA) last located 610 km. east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said Friday.

These areas are Mindanao, the Visayas, Bicol region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin.

LPA in Mindanao may develop into tropical depression: PAGASA

MANILA – A low pressure area (LPA) was detected east of Mindanao and may develop into a tropical depression in two days, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

In the 10 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was estimated 1,010 kilometers east of Mindanao, which will bring light to moderate rains in several regions.

PAGASA also cautioned affected regions of possible hazards like landslides in the next 24 hours.

MANILA – Some areas in the country will experience rains caused by two weather systems, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the province of Aurora, the northern portion of Quezon, and the regions of Bicol and Eastern Visayas due to the shear line.

The same weather condition will prevail over Caraga, Davao region, and Soccsksargen due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
