'Karding' set to exit PAR Monday night; storm signals lifted

MANILA – Typhoon Karding slightly intensified as it is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday night, the weather bureau said.

"Karding" now packs maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 170 kph. 

No tropical cyclone wind signal was hoisted on any part of the country.

The typhoon was last located 425 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, moving westward at 30 kph.

Fair weather, chances of rains over Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA -- Fair weather will prevail over the Visayas and Mindanao, but rains are likely in the afternoon, a forecaster said Tuesday.

"The Visayas and Mindanao will have fair weather in the morning. Chances of thunderstorms and rains are forecast in the afternoon," Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Zamboanga and Davao's temperature will reach up to 33 °C; Tacloban, Iloilo and Cebu's temperature is up to 32 °C.

Easterlies to bring fair weather across PH Tuesday

MANILA – Fair weather will prevail over most parts of the country due to the easterlies, while the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Mindanao will bring rains, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Oriental.

"In Luzon, fair weather will prevail, with isolated rains due to thunderstorms," Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Monday forecast: Fair weather to prevail over most of PH

MANILA – Fair weather will prevail over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said Monday.

"Because of the easterlies, most areas in the country will experience warm and fair weather. No LPA (low pressure area) or weather disturbance was monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility," Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Light rains will be experienced over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the northeasterly surface windflow.

Trough of LPA to bring rains over parts of Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA – The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring rains over Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao and Davao Region, the weather bureau said on Monday.

"This LPA is not expected to go near or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, this will bring rains over a huge part of Mindanao and some parts of the Visayas," Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Grace Castañeda said in the agency's 5 a.m. weather bulletin.

Gov’t ready for ‘Jolina’: Palace

MANILA – The Duterte government continues to keep close tabs on the movement of Tropical Storm (TS) Jolina, Malacañang assured the public on Tuesday.

In an online presser, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said all frontline government agencies have already taken adequate preparations to provide assistance to people residing in areas that will be hit by TS Jolina.

“Handa po tayo. Nandiyan po ang lahat ng tulong, naka-preposition na (We are ready. The assistance is there and has already been preposition),” Roque said.

MANILA – A low-pressure area (LPA) and two weather systems are expected to bring rains in many parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA as of 3 a.m. was estimated at 70 kilometers east northeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

2 weather systems to bring rains across PH Monday

MANILA – Most parts of the archipelago will experience isolated rain showers on Monday due to the easterlies and the northeast monsoon, the weather bureau said.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the easterlies affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region and Soccsksargen.
