2 students killed in MSU-Marawi campus

COTABATO CITY --- Investigators are still clueless on the murder of two students inside the supposedly secured campus of the Mindanao State University in Marawi City at about dusk Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, said Tuesday he has directed the Marawi City police to immediately identify the killers of college students Omar Zinal and Hamzah Rauf for prosecution.

4 NPAs killed, 2 soldiers hurt in Bukidnon clash

KIDAPAWAN CITY --- Four New People’s Army guerillas were killed while two soldiers were wounded  in a clash Wednesday in San Fernando town in nearby Bukidnon province.

Eight NPAs who scampered away as the exchange of gunfire ensued were captured by pursuing Army troopers backed by policemen from the 1003rd Mobile Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10.

One of the eight NPAs who got wounded in the firefight was immediately rushed by soldiers and policemen to a hospital.

NPA killed, two arrested by Marines in Buldon, Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY --- Marine combatants shot dead a New People’s Army guerilla and nabbed three others in an encounter over the weekend in Buldon town in Maguindanao.

In a report to Major Gen. Juvymax Uy of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, the 1st Marine Brigade said the slain guerilla belonged to the NPA’s self-styled Local Guerilla Unit-Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.

Leaders of the NPA’s SMRC are wanted for high-profile criminal cases pending in different courts.

Marines foil NPA plan in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, MAGUINDANAO – Elements of Marine Battalion Landing Team-5 (MBLT-5) and 63rd Marine Company Force Reconnaisance Group (63MC, FRG) of the 1st Marine Brigade encountered members of the Local Guerilla Unit (LGU1) composed of the remnants of Guerilla Front 53 and 56, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) under a certain Ka Aber at Sitio Kapatagan, Brgy Karim, Buldon, Maguindanao on September 2, 2021.

2 soldiers hurt in gun, IED attack in Basilan

COTABATO CITY --- Gunmen on motorcycles set off a bomb near an Army detachment in Lamitan City, Basilan and shot two soldiers before they fled carting the M203 rifle of one of the two victims.

Reports reaching the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) in nearby Parang town in Maguindanao province identified the wounded soldiers as Cpl. Cyrus Bunda and Pvt. Arny Vember Basco, who both belong to the Army’s 68th Infantry Battalion.

12 more BIFFs yield to Army in Maguindanao


AMPATUAN, Maguindanao  – A dozen Moro terror group members have decided to surrender Monday to military authorities claiming they were duped to join the ranks.

“Tired, and we discovered that we were duped and promised to be paid a huge amount a month as fighters, but never happened,” said Alias Sudan, one of the 12 members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) who surrendered to military authorities here.

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A wanted intelligence officer of the communist terrorist group (CTG) was killed in a law enforcement operation orchestrated by 5th Special Forces Battalion of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Polomolok MPS, and other government forces in Barangay Cannery Site, Polomolok, South Cotabato on the afternoon of August 16, 2021.
