Wanted man with P1.3 million bounty on head arrested in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY --- The police arrested Friday one of the 10 most wanted law offenders in Maguindanao province who has a P1.3 million bounty on his head.

Duma Anayatin, facing multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder cases in a regional court, is now in the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

Anayatin yielded peacefully when members of the CIDG-BAR led by Police Major Esmael Madin arrived in his lair in Barangay Damabalas in Datu Piang, Maguindanao and served him a warrant for his arrest.

2 bandits killed, 3 wounded in latest hostilities in Maguindanao

MAGUINDANAO --- Soldiers shot dead two members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in an encounter in Barangay Mao in Datu Paglas town Sunday.

The slain bandits were followers of Kagui Karialan, leader of one of three factions in the BIFF, who is facing more than 30 cases in different courts for acts of terror, including deadly bombings in central Mindanao in recent years.

Sunday’s hostilities in Barangay Mao erupted when BIFF gunmen attacked soldiers patrolling in the area, dispatched to check on reports by villagers on sightings of armed men around.

6th ID intensifies campaign vs BIFF

MAGUINDANAO --- The military is preparing for retaliations by the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters following Wednesday’s death of five members in a clash with soldiers in Datu Paglas town.

The BIFF has a reputation for bombing non-military targets, business establishments and public conveyances to avenge losses in clashes with pursuing state security forces.

5 BIFF bandits killed in latest Maguindanao hostilities 

MAGUINDANAO - Five members of the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters perished in a gunfight with pursuing soldiers in Datu Paglas Wednesday.

The four BIFF gunmen, initially identified only as Anding, Said, Bitol, Musib and Habib, got killed in an encounter with soldiers under the Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade.

Habib was from nearby North Cotabato province, according to sources in the province.

They were among about a hundred BIFF gunmen who stormed the town proper of Datu Paglas town

Soldiers recover rifles, IEDs left by terrorists behind Datu Paglas attack

MAGUINDANAO --- The military found two M16 rifles and a dozen improvised explosive devices along the escape route of the terrorists who stormed the public market in Datu Paglas town Saturday.

Brig. Gen. Roy Galido of the Army’s 601st Brigade said Tuesday soldiers running after members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters who occupied and public market in Datu Paglas are now in custody of the two assault rifles and IEDs left along a trail in Barangay Lepak in nearby Pandag town.

2 BIFF members nabbed after hostilities in Datu Paglas, Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Two extremists belonging to the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) – Karialan Faction were held by residents of a community at the outskirts barangay of Datu Paglas town of Maguindanao on May 10, 2021.

Army: Normalcy in Datu Paglas restored

COTABATO CITY --- The Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade told this news outfit at past 2:00 p.m. Saturday that normalcy in Datu Paglas, Maguindanao had been restored, gunmen who showed force in its poblacion driven out by state forces promptly.

The commander of the brigade, Gen. Roy Galido, said no one was killed in the adventurism of Solaiman Tudon and his followers, whose incursion in the town center of Datu Paglas caused panic among residents.

Army regains control of Maguindanao town seized by BIFF

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Government forces have regained control of the town center in Maugindanao that outlawed Moro gunmen seized at 4 a.m. Saturday.

“We are now in control of the public market in Datu Paglas, clearing operations were still going on,” Lt. Colonel John Paul Baldomar, speaking for the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, said.

He said no casualty was reported on government side and could not say if the rebels had casualties.

BIFF seizes Maguindanao town, Army, rebels trade shots

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao  – Heavily armed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) today occupied the town center of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao.

Hudnreds of motorists and passengers were also stranded as the Datu Paglas-Tulunan highway was closed to trffic beginning at 4 a.m. today.

Lt. Colonel John Paul Baldomar, speaking for the 6th Infantry Division, said about 200 heavily armed BIFF under the Kagi Karialan faction occupied the town’s public market and established defensive positions.

Henchman of Maute founders killed in Lanao clash

COTABATO CITY -- Soldiers killed a henchman of the slain founders of the Maute terror group and wounded three others in an encounter in  Piagapo, Lanao del Sur Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Jose Ma. Cuerpo, commander of the Army’s 103rd Brigade, said Thursday the slain terrorist was among more than 20 gunmen who attacked soldiers patrolling in a secluded area in Barangay Kalungan in Piagapo, sparking a two-hour gunfight.
