Army opn vs. NPAs displaces 200 NoCot villagers

KIDAPAWAN CITY – The hostilities involving government forces and communist rebels in the mountains of Matalam, North Cotabato have sent villagers fleeing to safer grounds.

Disaster officials in Matalam have listed 51 families or about 255 individuals who sought refuge in the village covered court following clashes that left a ranking official of New Peoples’ Army dead.

Zaldy Gulmatico Pulido, secretary-general of Guerilla Front 53, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee was killed in a clash with soldiers belonging to 90th Infantry Battalion.

Senior NPA leader killed in North Cotabato hostilities

NORTH COTABATO --- Soldiers shot dead a senior official of the New People’s Army in a gunfight on Saturday morning in Matalam town. 

Zaldy Gulmatico Pulido, secretary of the NPA’s self-styled Guerilla Front 53-Southern Mindanao Regional Committee, died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds. 

9 more Dawlah gunmen in Maguindanao surrender to 6th ID

MAGUINDANAO --- Nine more members of the Dawlah Islamiya, one of them an expert in fabrication of home-made bombs, surrendered to the Army Saturday.

The nine gunmen yielded through the joint intercession of the Army’s 57th Infantry Battalion and local executives in towns located in the second district of Maguindanao.

BARMM gov't urge probe on shooting of 2 Tawi-Tawi frontliners

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro government urged the police Wednesday to identify and prosecute the gunmen who shot and wounded two COVID-19 frontliners in an attack Monday in Bongao town in Tawi-Tawi province.

Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, local government minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said their chief minister, Ahod Ebrahim, wants an immediate closure to the incident that left social workers Niezel Ladjauddin Asakil and Kevin Pon badly wounded.

They are both employees of BARMM’s Ministry of Social Services and Development, or MSSD.

1 killed, 4 injured as MILF factions clash in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY – A member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was killed while four others were wounded as two MILF factions traded bullets in Barangay Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao, the Army today said.

The armed clash transpired at 11:40 in the morning between the group of Salik Kiko, a delisted member of 118th base command and Ben Tikaw of 13th Brigade of 105th base command, all from MILF.

More IEDs found in another abandoned BIFF lair

MAGUINDANAO --- Soldiers recovered more improvised explosive devices in another abandoned encampment of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in Ampatuan town Friday.

The BIFF enclave, located in Sitio Talpok in Barangay Salman in Ampatuan, Maguindanao has makeshift shelters enough to accommodate no fewer than 50 members.

Westmincom: Cadaver of Indonesian Abu Sayyaf captive found

COTABATO CITY --- Soldiers found Tuesday a cadaver of an Indonesian seafarer kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf gunmen in the sea border of Tawi-Tawi and Sabah, Malaysia long ago.

Reports reaching the capitol of the Bangsamoro regional government here Thursday stated that the human remains were recovered by personnel of the Army’s 45th Infantry Battalion somewhere in Barangay Maligay in Patikul town in Sulu.

Sulu is a component province of the Bangsamoro region.

Army troopers discover anti-personnel mine factory in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao  - Army troopers of Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) discovered an Anti-Personnel Mine (APM) factory as the government intensified its on-going combat clearing operation against the local terrorist groups (LTG) in Ampatuan town of Maguindanao at 12:00 noon on September 25, 2020.

Troops belonging to the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion found an APM factory containing various unexploded ordnance (UXO), war materials and documents in Sitio Talpok, Barangay Salman while pursuing the LTGs.

UPDATE: Explosion kills soldier, hurts 2 in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A novice private soldier was killed while two others were injured in an anti-personnel mine (APM) explosion in Barangay Salman, Ampatuan, Maguindanao at 7:15 in the morning early today.

Major General Juvymax Uy, Army's 6th Infantry Division commander, said that the troops of 57th IB led by 2nd Lt. Larry Panghunasan were conducting a combat clearing operations against suspected members of local terrorist group when one of them tripped on an APM that was fashioned out as a landmine.

UPDATE: Civilian slain in Maguindanao rice field blast

CAMP Siongco, Maguindano - A civilian was injured in an explosion at Sitio Gantong, Barangay Tonggol in General Salipada K. Pendatun (GKSP), Maguindanao at early morning today, September 23, 2020.

Victim, identified as Mujahid Guialudin, was hit while tending his carabao in the rice field when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off.

A military progress report later today said Guialudin has died minutes after he was rushed to the Buluan District Hospital.
