COTABATO CITY --- A gunman shot dead Thursday night in General Santos City a police intelligence agent involved in anti-terror surveillance missions. 

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, director of the Police Regional Office-12, on Friday identified the slain policeman as Corporal Razul Alongan of the Tambler Police Precinct in General Santos City.

Alongan was inside an eatery in Barangay Fatima in General Santos City when a man approached from behind, pulled out a .45 caliber pistol from a sling back and shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.

Kinilala ang mga supek na sina Asim Fahad Mamalinta, 20-anyos at Ramil Ali, 32-anyos, kapwa residente ng Salimsi, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. Nakumpiska naman ng pulisya mula sa pag-iingat ng mga suspek ang isang Cal .38 revolver, illegal na droga at tatlong cellphones.

KORONADAL CITY - Authorities are certain the Dawlah Islamiya and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters together perpetrated the bombing at noontime Monday of a bus in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat that hurt seven passengers.

Reports have been circulating in central Mindanao since Monday night purporting that the bombing was to avenge the deaths of 17 leaders of both groups in clashes with pursuing soldiers and policemen in central Mindanao in the past 16 months.

COTABATO CITY - Authorities are bracing for retaliations by local terrorists for the deaths of four accomplices, tagged in high-profile crimes, policemen killed in a clash Wednesday in Tulunan, Cotabato.

Local officials, police and military intelligence officials told reporters Thursday Danny Cabakungan and his four henchmen had links with both the Dawlah Islamiya and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.

Both groups, fashioned from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, are blamed for all deadly bombings in central Mindanao since 2014.

KIDAPAWAN CITY  – Police neutralized Wednesday five members of a private armed group and seized assorted high powered guns and explosives after they resisted arrest and traded shots with lawmen.

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, police regional director for the Soccsksargen region, said joint police units from North Cotabato and from Tulunan municipal police station were to serve search warrants against Danny Lamalan Cabakungan, alias “Commander Magnetic,” for violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and explosives at about 4 a.m. when he and his men resisted.
