BARMM has 192 new peacekeeper cops

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao  - A total of 192 new graduates of police courses are now added to the forces in the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM) after they took their oath of office Tuesday morning.

Brigadier General Eden T Ugale, regional director for Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autojnomous Region (PRO-BAR), officiated the oath taking ceremony for newly appointed police patrolmen and patrolwomen under the PRO BAR Calendar Year 2021-1st Cycle Recruitment Program at the Grandstand of Camp BGen Salipada K Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao.

Adiong calls for passage of Marawi Compensation Bill

COTABATO CITY – Lanao del Sur Governor Mamibtal “Bombit” Alonto-Adiong Jr. has urged Congress to pass the Marawi Compensation Bill long pending plenary deliberations, pointing out the “patience of my fellow Meranaws is wearing thin” after four years in waiting.

Gov. Adiong issued the call when interviewed at the sidelight of the regional summit of the Bangsamoro autonomous governance here on July 23.

BARMM allocates 30K single-dose vaccine to Tawi-Tawi

TAWI-TAWI — As part of preemptive measures implemented by the government with the detection of the first Delta variant cases in the country, the Health Ministry of the Bangsamoro Government has allocated 30,000 doses of single-shot vaccine to this province.
 
This was after the roll-out of the first batch of US-made Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Covid-19 Vaccine from the national government.
 

Zubiri: Bill postponing BARMM elections now on final stage

COTABATO CITY – "We, in the Senate, are in the final stages of passing the bill postponing the BARMM elections," Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri announced here in his remarks at the Bangsamoro Governance Summit 2021.

The postponement, according to him, will allow the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) to fulfill its mandated duties in achieving elusive peace and prosperity in the Bangsamoro region.

"In shaa Allah, within a month, we will get it done," he added.

Bill postponing BARMM polls likely done soon -- Zubiri

COTABATO CITY --- Stakeholders were elated with the announcement Friday by Senator Miguel Zubiri that they might wrap up in a month the measure resetting the 2022 Bangsamoro elections to 2025.  

Zubiri announced in the Bangsamoro Governance Summit here Friday via online Zoom that the Senate is now in the final stage of passing Senate Bill 2214.

The bill is a requisite for postponing the supposed first ever 2022 regional elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Governance Summit to fortify ‘genuinely responsive’ BARMM government

COTABATO CITY—In pursuit of upholding Moral Governance and uplifting the lives of its people, the Bangsamoro Government held its first ‘Bangsamoro Governance Summit 2021’  here on Friday.
 
The summit intends to fortify coordination amongst BARMM local chief executives (LCEs) and the regional government to ensure alignment of the consolidated and deliberated programs and projects laid out by each LGU for its inclusion in the region’s priority Projects Program Activities (PPAs) for the fiscal year 2022.
 

BTA’s plan to honor pioneer “mujahideen” gains support

COTABATO CITY --- “There is wisdom in the move of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) to honor the pioneer “top” 90 and 300 fighters of the Moro National Liberation Front, trained in Malaysia, for their roles in the Southern Philippine Moro uprising.”

That, Gerry Salapuddin, administrator of the Southern Philippines Development Authority, stated in a narrative that he wrote and dispatched to media outlets on Saturday.

LGUs, BARMM charting common security, development thrusts

COTABATO CITY -- Local executives are in favor of aligning their development initiatives with those of the potential funder Bangsamoro government to boost regional economy and security.

Municipal and provincial officials in Basilan, in Maguindanao and in Lanao del Sur, in fact, assured of their support in pushing forward the peace and development initiatives of the Bangsamoro region during dialogues this week with regional officials.

BARMM's ‘palay’ output yields up to 36% in Q1

COTABATO CITY — During the first quarter of 2021, a significant 36.46 percent increase in palay production in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was recorded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
