BARMM leaders seek more engagements with peace monitoring team

MANILA – Members of a House body, leaders of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and the Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) met on Monday to discuss the status of the Bangsamoro peace process.

During the meeting, BARMM governors voiced their views to the TPMT on the peace process with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Sulu Gov. Abdusakur Tan urged TPMT officials to engage with local government units more frequently as they know more about what is happening on the ground.

Lanao Sur murder suspect nabbed in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY - A murder suspect wanted since 1995 in Lanao del Sur was arrested in PC Hill area in the center of this city on Sunday afternoon.

Col. Jibin Bongcayao, Lanao del Sur provincial police director, said Monday they are grateful to tipsters who informed them about the presence in Cotabato City of Alioden Banto, now detained.

Banto is wanted for a murder case pending since 1995 in the Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Balindong town in Lanao del Sur.

Banto, also known as Oding Mamarungcas, hails from Barangay Campong Tanao in Tugaya, Lanao del Sur.

COTABATO CITY - Tinanggihan ng Ministry of Interior and Local Government o MILG ang hiling ni Mohajeran Odjie Balayman na siya ang kilalaning Mayor matapos itong manalo sa election protest.

Nagpalabas kasi ng kautusan ang korte na nagsasaad na panalo si Balayman sa election protest kasabay rin nito ang inilabas na writ of execution sa desisyon ng korte sa kanyang pag-upo bilang alkalde.

Katunayan, nitong nakaraang araw ay nanumpa na si Balayman kay Gov Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu para i-assume ang pagiging alkalde ng bayan.

Galvez says Bangsamoro government displays resolve to expedite passage of electoral code

COTABATO CITY — Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, said that the Bangsamoro government has shown "moral conviction" to uphold their commitment to the President of enacting the proposed electoral code in the first quarter of 2023.

Galvez expressed his confidence that the electoral code would be passed on schedule, giving the Commission on Elections, regional political parties and other stakeholders sufficient time to prepare for the 2025 synchronized elections.

5 suspected drug peddlers with terror links nabbed in Lanao Sur 

COTABATO CITY --- Five shabu peddlers who shared earnings to the Dawlah Islamiya terrorist group fell in a sting early Wednesday in Tugaya, Lanao del Sur.

Col. Jibin Bongcayao, director of the Lanao del Sur provincial police, said Samsiah Dilabayan, Kairon Umbaro Bayaba, Alioden Banto, Aminodin Busran Sultan and Saadudin Busran Sultan are now in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

P6.8-M worth shabu seized in latest Sulu sting

COTABATO CITY - Authorities seized P6.8 million worth of shabu from two alleged dealers entrapped Monday in Jolo town in Sulu.

The duo, Madjid Arandani Sala and Alfagar Asgali, were immediately arrested after selling a kilo of shabu to non-uniformed agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and anti-narcotics operatives from the Sulu Provincial Police Office.

112 job seekers avail of Bangsamoro BGIP

COTABATO CITY --- More than a hundred new applicants are expecting inclusion in the Bangsamoro Government Internship Program in preparation for employment in state agencies and in the private sector.

In the forefront of the BGIP’s implementation is the office of Director Sara Jane Sinsuat of the Bureau of Employment, Promotion and Welfare of the Ministry of Labor and Employment-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

P2.04-M worth shabu seized from slain trafficker

COTABATO CITY --- Policemen seized P2.04 million worth of shabu from a barangay councilman killed in a shootout Thursday afternoon in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.

Col. Jibin Bongcayao, director of the Lanao del Sur provincial police, said Friday Abuhanan Dimaporo Sultan died on the spot from gunshot wounds.

Sultan, a member of the barangay council in Limogao, Saguiaran, had links with the Dawlah Islamiya terrorist group, according to relatives and officials of an intelligence unit of the Army’s 103rd Infantry Brigade in Marawi City.

Army, Moro MPs one in provincial peace efforts

The commander of the Army’s 602nd Infantry Brigade said Thursday they need support from Bangsamoro parliament members based in North Cotabato in pushing their peace programs for the local communities forward.

Two members of the 80-member Bangsamoro Transition Authority, physician Kadil Sinolinding, Jr. and Moro leader Kelly Antao, separately assured the commander of the 602nd Brigade, Brig. Gen. Jovencio Gonzales, of their commitment to his efforts in sustaining peace and order in North Cotabato.

MILG BARMM donates 5 brand new patrol cars to PNP-BARMM

COTABATO CITY -  The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) turned over today, 12 October 2022, Wednesday, five units of brand new Police Patrol Cars to the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) at the Office of the Chief Minister Grounds, Cotabato City.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the official turnover was signed by MILG Minister Atty. Naguib G. Sinarimbo and PRO BAR Regional Director PBGen John G. Guyguyon; and witnessed by Senior Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua and MILG Deputy Minister Abunawas "Von Al Haq" L. Maslamama.
