COTABATO CITY - HINILING NG MGA mayor sa Maguindanao del Norte kay Pangulong Marcos na mag-intervene o mamagitan upang maresolba ang tinawag nilang crisis sa lalawigan sa isyu ng governorship at budget.

Nanawagan ang United Bangsamoro Development Council na pinamumunuan ni Northern Kabuntalan Mayor

Umbra Ramil Dilangalen kay P. Marcos na kilalanin at italaga na ang acting governor o officer in charge sa lalawigan.

Ito ay upang matapos na ang pagkalito ng mga mamamayan kung sino ang kanilang mga provincial officials.

Simunul modern town hall nearing completion

COTABATO CITY – The municipal hall project in Tawi-Tawi’s historic island town of Simunul is nearing completion.

According to Minister of the Interior and Local Government Atty Naguib G Sinarimbo, the Municipal Hall project in Tawi-Tawi's historic island municipality of Simunul is nearing completion and will be inaugurated soonest.

This infrastructure project, funded by the BARMM Contingency Fund 2020, is part of the Ministry's Local Government Facilities Development (LGFD) Program, which aims to improve the services of constituent local government units in the BARMM.

6th ID expecting surrender of more NPAs soon

COTABATO CITY - The military is expecting the surrender of no fewer than 50 more ranking New People’s Army guerillas from across central Mindanao in the next five months. 

Officials of units of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division told reporters Wednesday more NPAs have sent them surrender feelers in the past two weeks via local executives in upland towns. 

MILG, USAID-CRC assist Cotabato City enhance climate change action plan

DAVAO CITY – To help Cotabato City improve its resiliency to climate change, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MILG-BARMM) has assisted the Cotabato City planners through a writeshop co-organized by USAID-Climate Resilient Cities (CRC).

The training was aimed at updating Cotabato City’s Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP). It was heled last February 22-24 at Apo View Hotel in Davao City.

Stakeholders back proposed BARMM local gov’t code

COTABATO CITY --- Participants to cross-section consultations Friday, February 24, on the proposed local government code of the Bangsamoro region are in favor of the measure, optimistic of its approval soon by the regional parliament.

Physician Kadil Sinolinding, Jr., a member of the 80-seat Bangsamoro regional parliament, said Sunday he is grateful to stakeholders who participated in the separate dialogues --- in Cotabato City and another for the local communities in the Special Geographic Area, or SGA --- on the importance of the proposed Bangsamoro Local Government Code.

Housing project for conflict-stricken Moro families launched

COTABATO CITY - Local officials were elated with the commencement of the Bangsamoro government’s construction of 84 houses in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town for conflict-stricken families.

Mayor Edris Sindatok of Datu Saudi Ampatuan municipality in Maguindanao del Sur told reporters Saturday the housing project was personally launched last Monday by Regional Social Welfare Minister Raisa Jajurie.

Members of the Datu Saudi Ampatuan Sangguniang Bayan said they are grateful to the Bangsamoro regional government for embarking on the project.

4 BARMM prov'l execs call for speedy decommissioning of MILF

COTABATO CITY – Four provincial governors of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have asked Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr to hasten the decommissioning of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).  

The four governors who are not political partymates of the current BARMM leadership also want Pres. Marcos to forgo the conduct of this year’s barangay elections in the region due to security issues.

2 BARMM lawmakers push for more women in parliament

COTABATO CITY – As the regional legislative body is finalizing the draft Bangsamoro Electoral Code, two Members of Parliament have pushed for the increased women and youth participation in the 2025 parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Members of Parliament (MPs) Amir S. Mawallil and Rasol Y. Mitmug Jr made the proposals as the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) resumes deliberation Parliamentary Bill No. 29 or the proposed Bangsamoro Electoral Code (BEC).

Lanao Sur, Maguindanao LTO now under BARMM

COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro government finally assumed control Wednesday of the Land Transportation Office in Maguindanao and in Lanao del Sur that insiders first opposed due to misunderstandings on transition modalities.

Paisalin Tago, transportation and communications minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Wednesday their assumption of the management of the LTO branches in both provinces was premised on the charter of BARMM, the Republic Act 11054.

World Bank Group, DBM back BARMM’s digitalization initiative

COTABATO CITY — The digitalization initiative for BARMM's system of governance is being supported by the World Bank Group (WBG) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), following the consultation held last Feb. 15, 2023.

The World Bank Group reaffirms engagement with the Ministry of Finance, and Budget and Management (MFBM) as the two (2) agencies plan to beef up economic and digitalization opportunities in the Bangsamoro autonomous region.
