How I hope I am wrong in thinking that this is deliberate, that whoever this Godless people are, they seem to be intent on exhausting our patience, and believe me, exhausting our patience means exhausting our resolve. And we don’t want that.

Lawmakers seek congressional probe on Kabacan killings 

COTABATO CITY --- Six Mindanao lawmakers are pushing forward an inquiry on the August 29 brutal killing of nine Moro men in the premises of the University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan, North Cotabato.

BARMM helps families of fatalities in Kabacan atrocity

NORTH COTABATO --- The Bangsamoro government extended Thursday P70,000 financial assistance each to the families of the nine Moro men killed by gunmen in Kabacan town Saturday.

Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, local government minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, personally handed over P50,000 cash to each of the families of the victims during a dialogue in Kabacan, North Cotabato.

MSU celebrates 59th founding day; honors late Senator Alonto

MARAWI CITY --- The Mindanao State University (MSU) successfully celebrated its 59th foundation anniversary on Tuesday, September 01, 2020 by giving honor to late Senator Dr. Ahmad Domocao “Domie” A. Alonto, an exemplary Filipino Muslim Statesman.

MSU was founded 59 years ago to help build peace and celebrate diversity and culture. It was created as one of the government's responses to the so-called “Mindanao Problem” through the efforts of the late Senator Alonto, a lawyer, educator, author, traditional leader, and Islamic figure from Lanao del Sur.

BTA Parliament approves Special Committee Report on Marawi

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament approved on Thursday, August 27, 2020 the report of the Special Committee on Marawi (SCM), a document outlining the issues faced by those displaced and affected by the Marawi Siege, and issuing recommendations for the Bangsamoro Government and the National Government to address the slow pace of reconstruction and the urgent concerns of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). 

MNLF wants legal closure to Kabacan carnage 

COTABATO CITY --- The Moro National Liberation Front has joined local sectors calling for an impartial probe on Saturday’s brutal murder of nine Moro motorists in Kabacan town in North Cotabato.

Romeo Sema, a member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority and MNLF’s vice chairman for political affairs, said Wednesday the police, the military and the National Bureau of Investigation should fuse ranks and look extensively into the incident.

MP Latiph files ‘resolution’ to assist victims of Sulu attacks

COTABATO CITY — Member of Parliament Atty. Maisara C. Dandamun-Latiph filed to the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament a ‘resolution’ that would assist victims of twin bombings in Jolo, Sulu on Monday, August 24, 2020.

At least 6 civilians, 7 soldiers, and 1 policeman have been killed and wounded 48 civilians, 21 soldiers, 3 policemen, and 3 Special Action Force Personnel after two powerful explosions took place in Barangay Walled City.

BTA condemns Jolo bombings; urges Bangsamoro Government to provide aid

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) approved Thursday, August 27, a resolution condemning the twin bombings  last August 24 in heavily populated areas of downtown Jolo, Sulu.

Member of Parliament (MP) Amir Mawallil said during the 42nd session of the BTA’s 2nd Regular Session that the resolution (Proposed Resolution No. 289) also urges the Government of the Day to provide immediate cash assistance to the families of the bombing victims which accounted for 14 fatalities and injured at least 78 individuals, including government troops.

Zero COVID-19' in Basilan prov'l jail

COTABATO CITY --- All 107 detainees in the Basilan provincial jail tested negative to COVID-19, in contrast with prevalent infection cases in most Mindanao detention facilities.

In a report to Gov. Jim Salliman Thursday, the Provincial Health Office, or PHO, said 13 inmates were also subjected to sputum sampling to determine if they have pulmonary tuberculosis during the coronavirus testing activity early this week.
