BARMM schools joining F2F classes to get P50K support fund

The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) shall provide a one shot support fund, amounting to P50,000.00, for each school participating in the piloting and expansion of the face-to-face (F2F) classes in the region.

This is in accordance with MBHTE's Regional Memorandum No. 365, issued on April 7, which states that the support fund shall be utilized exclusively for the orientations, consultations, conduct of pilot testing of face-to-face classes, and provision of needed materials for the operation of the school during the pilot testing and expansion.

BARMM, PNP orients MILF, MNLF commanders on special qualifying exams

COTABATO CITY — In line with the entry of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) members to the police force, selected base commanders of the groups are attending a two-day orientation on April 11-12 in the city.
The activity is part of the information dissemination on the eligibility equirements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the conduct of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Special Qualifying Eligibility Examination (NSQEE) slated on May 29.

Hydroponic veggie farming takes off in Basilan

COTABATO CITY --- People in Basilan are experimenting on something new to them that they expect to earn for the province the tag “hydroponic agriculture capital” of the Bangsamoro region.

Many Muslim and Christian residents of Basilan are now studying hydroponic farming, being promoted by their provincial government that has a facility operating like a show window of how it can be done.

COTABATO CITY — In its bid to protect the consumers and business owners, the Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT) initiated a round-table discussion on April 7 to address pressing issues of the Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (MAGELCO).

"As part of our mandate in protecting our consumers, we hold this meeting to discuss the issue and find solution as ways forward," said MTIT Deputy Minister Atty. Sukarno Abas.

Ambush incidents rock Cotabato City, Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY --- A popular lawyer survived an ambush here Thursday but a campaigner of the political party of the Moro Islamic Liberation working for a mayoral candidate attacked in a separate incident the same day was not as lucky.

UNDP, MOLE-BARMM tie-up takes off

COTABATO CITY --- The United Nations Development Programme and the Bangsamoro labor ministry agreed Wednesday to cooperate in setting up a data management information system to boost services to the labor sector in five southern provinces.

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao covers the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

Chief Minister Ebrahim adjusts employees' work hours during Ramadhan

Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim has released a memorandum modifying the working hours of officials and employees in the Bangsamoro Government during the Holy Month of Ramadhan.

Under Memorandum Circular No. 0051, Muslim officials and employees who shall observe fasting during the holy month are allowed to observe flexible working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

After the end of Ramadhan, all officials and employees shall revert to their respective regular working hours from 8:00 am. to 5:00 p.m.


Ramadan season starts

COTABATO CITY --- The Ramadan will start Sunday, a holy month in the Islamic Hijrah calendar where Muslims fast from dawn to dusk during the period as a religious obligation and a reparation for wrongdoings.

Sheik Abu Huraira Udasan, the mufti, or grand preacher of the Darul Iftah in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, announced on Friday night that the Ramadan fasting season shall commence on Sunday.

More warrants vs 2 detained terror suspects

COTABATO CITY  - The police separately served Wednesday two detainees at the Maguindanao provincial jail here and in Datu Piang town jail additional arrest warrants for deadly acts of terror.

In a statement Thursday, the Regional Field Office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG-BAR) said the latest warrants for Sultan Guialil were for violation of Republic Act 11479.

The RA 11479 is also known as the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2022.

PDEA, cops bust village councilor, SK official in BARMM

COTABATO CITY – Law enforcers separately arrested a barangay councilor here and a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) official in the Maguindanao town of Parang for shabu possession, authorities said Wednesday.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) identified the arrested village councilor here as Ivann dela Fuente Ampang of Barangay Poblacion 7.
