Bangsamoro Gov’t completes sending home 405 BaSulTa bound LSIs

COTABATO CITY  – Ninety-six (96) stranded residents bound for the island provinces of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi have boarded the MV Lady Mary Joy-3 today at the Polloc Port in Parang, Maguindanao.

This means that the Bangsamoro Government has successfully sent home all 405 Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) to their respective provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

BARMM sends 50 LSIs to Basulta via Navy vessel

COTABATO CITY  – Fifty Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) are expected to be reunited with their loved ones after the Bangsamoro government facilitated their return home from Maguindanao today, officials said.

They have completed the 14-day quarantine in Maguindanao Covid-19 isolation facility Tuesday, according to Minister Naguib Sinarimbo of the Bangsamoro Ministry of the Interior and Local Governments (MILG).

The 50 residents of Basilan were among the 405 LSIs from Metro Manila who were offloaded to Cagayan de Oro City on July 10.

SONA 2020: BARMM execs revisit milestones of Bangsamoro

Shariff Aguak Mayor Ampatuan distributes free wheelchairs to town's PWDs

SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao – In his bid to make the life of persons with disabilities (PWDs), Shariff Aguak Mayor Marop Ampatuan has distributed wheelchairs to 10 indigent PWDs during flag ceremonies Monday.

“I know how difficult it has been for PWDs at this time of community quarantine,” Mayor Ampatuan said of PWDs, also known as "Diffirently Abled-Perons" (DAP) during the dispersal ceremonies.

“More wheelchairs are to be distributed by the LGU,” Mayor Ampatuan said, asking the village officials in town to submit to his office the names of all PWDs in their localities.

Lanao Sur's pandemic-affected Wifi project to resume soon

COTABATO CITY --- The implementation of the “Free Wifi for All” project in Lanao del Sur that got stalled due the COVID-19 pandemic will resume before yearend, officials said Saturday.

The project, launched last March 5, was suspended after Malacañang placed the country under a state of health emergency due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease.

Lanao del Sur Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr. said Saturday the Speedcast, the Australian contractor of the Free Wifi for All project, shall possibly resume with its implementation within the year.

Bangsamoro lawmakers push for added incentives for health workers in BARMM

COTABATO CITY - A resolution urging the Office of the Chief Minister and the Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region to provide additional incentives for Bangsamoro health workers who have been working during the pandemic was filed before the Bangsamoro parliament.

The resolution, which was tackled in the plenary on Tuesday, July 21, emphasized that under the Special Provisions of 2020 Bangsamoro Appropriations Act (BAA), an amount of PhP 200M has been allotted for health for the Quick Response Fund of the Office of the Chief Minister.

5 new COVID cases in BARMM as total confirmed patients reaches 416

COTABATO CITY - The health ministry of the Bansamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao has recorded a total of 416 confirmed COVID-19 patients across the region with five new cases listed as of yesterday.

Eight have died, 128 have recovered and 280 patients remained in isolation centers.

BARMMM builds four 100-bed capacity isolation centers for COVID patients

COTABATO CITY  – Four additional 100-bed Covid-19 isolation facilities are now being constructed by the Bangsamoro Government in the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

This is to accommodate the increasing number of Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (ROFs) in the region, as well as the Filipino returnees from Sabah.

BARMM Cabinet files Administrative, Civil Service, Local Government codes

COTABATO CITY — Three priority codes of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have been filed in the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) and went through the first stage of legislation this Wednesday, July 22. 

The codes, which were authored by the Government of the Day, are the Local Government Code (Cabinet Bill No. 58), the Civil Service Code (Cabinet Bill No. 59), and the Administrative Code (Cabinet Bill No. 60). 

Bangsamoro holds public order and safety conference

The Committee on Public Order and Safety of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) is holding a two-day Bangsamoro Public Order and Safety Conference from July 20 to 21, 2020 in Cotabato City.

First of its kind, the regional conference is aimed at briefing the Committee of the current regional security situation from major defense and security partners.
