2 BARMM execs retain posts; another named transport chief

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro chief minister has reappointed two heads of ministries essential to the southern peace process and tapped another to manage an equally important regional outfit.

The move followed the September 15 inaugural session here of the newly-reconstituted 80-seat Bangsamoro interim parliament that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. attended, about four weeks after he appointed members of the bloc, to serve from 2022 to 2025.

BTA member:  Laws on medical services needed

KABACAN, North Cotabato - A physician in the 2022-2025 Bangsamoro parliament said Wednesday he will focus on proposals for regional edicts that can ensure extensive and non-costly medical services to residents of the autonomous region.

The eye specialist Kadil Sinolinding, Jr. told reporters via online Messenger Thursday he will flex his medical outreach activities now that he will serve indigent patients more of being a member of 80-seat Bangsamoro Transition Authority, or BTA.

2 BARMM solons want new agencies for agri, agrarian and aquatic resources

COTABATO CITY  – Two regional lawmakers in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have proposed separate agencies for agrarian reform, fisheries and aquatic resources, and agriculture pushed in the Bangsamoro Parliament

On Tuesday, the duo, both members of the interim Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), have drafted and filed three measures seeking to create three separate ministries that will focus on agrarian reform, fisheries and aquatic resources, and agriculture.

Marcos wants unity of members of new BARMM parliament

COTABATO CITY - President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on Thursday called on members of the Bangsamoro parliament to work together for the attainment of peace and progress in the Moro-led autonomous region.

President Marcos was guest of honor in Thursday’s launching at the regional capitol here of the 2022-2025 Bangsamoro parliament, whose 80 members he appointed last August, after the  tenure of those who had served in 2019 to 2022 under President Rodrigo Duterte had ended.

Second BTA reelects Speaker Balindong

COTABATO CITY - COTABATO CITY —The newly appointed members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority formally convened for the inaugural session and election of the new set of officers of the Parliament today, September 15, in Cotabato City.

As ceremonial head of the BARMM’s interim government, Bangsamoro Wali Sheikh Khalifa Nando officially opened the inaugural session at 9:26 a.m., with reappointed BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim as the presiding officer.

PBBM to lead inauguration of newly appointed BTA members

COTABATO CITY — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos, Jr. is expected to lead the inauguration of the new members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) tomorrow afternoon, September 15, his first visit to BARMM since assuming office.

During the inauguration ceremony, President Marcos will deliver his address to the 80 new members of the BTA who will serve from 2022 to 2025.

Members of the Parliament will also take an “oath of moral governance” to ensure the public that the Bangsamoro government is committed to upholding good governance in the region.

Lamitan City's `houses on stilts' now occupied by beneficiaries

COTABATO CITY -  Fifty impoverished families in Barangay Kulaybato, Lamitan City now have decent houses, built for them by the office of the slain former Lamitan City Mayor Rose Furigay and the National Housing Authority.

Officials inaugurated on September 8 the 50 “houses on stilts” in a seaside area in Barangay Kulaybato. 

The newly-elected mayor here, Roderick Furigay, and a representative from the NHA, Engineer Al-Khwarizmi, together led the symbolic inauguration of the housing project.

2 BARMM cops face raps over alleged extortion

MANILA – Two police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs) assigned with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are now facing charges for their alleged involvement in extortion activities.

In a statement Monday, Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) chief Brig. Gen. Warren de Leon said charges of robbery extortion and violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act were filed against Staff Sgt. Mark Anthony Palma and Pat. Gerald Tucas.
