Lanao Sur education officials get aid from BARMM parliamentarian

COTABATO CITY  – Lanao del Sur’s district supervisors can now produce educational materials faster and quicker after a Member of Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) of the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

On Saturday, Member of Parliament (MP) Atty. Maisara Cudia Dandamun-Latiph said she thought of providing district schools with what are needed and most important equipment for education during the pandemic.

Bill resetting BARMM polls to 2025 hurdles House panel

MANILA – A measure resetting to 2025 the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) elections initially set in 2022 has hurdled committee level at the House of Representatives.

This came after the House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms, Committee on Muslim Affairs and Special Committee on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity jointly approved the draft substitute bill postponing for three years the first regular BARMM elections during a virtual meeting on Thursday.

Senate okays bill extending BTA on 2nd reading

The Senate approved on its second reading the Senate Bill (SB) 2214 during its 7th Plenary Session today, Aug. 25, 2021.

SB 2214 is entitled “An Act Resetting the First Regular Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, amending, for the purpose, Section 13, Article XVI of Republic Act No. 11054, otherwise known as the "Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.”

BARMM has 60 more offshore emergency responders

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi) announced Monday the graduation on August 22 of 60 more volunteers from an extensive water search and rescue training handled by military and civilian experts. 

It was the second group the READi-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Army’s 6th Infantry Division capacitated for offshore water search and rescue in a span of only about 30 days.

Bangsamoro scholars hold BARMM Scholarship Fair

COTABATO CITY — A group of Bangsamoro scholars held Saturday, August 21, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Scholarship Fair 2021 to facilitate aspiring scholars in availing various scholarship programs of the Bangsamoro Government.

The Bangsamoro Scholars Association (BSA), in collaboration with the Offices of Members of the Parliament Diamila Disimban Ramos and Abdullah Hashim, held the fair to “serve and help provide access to opportunities and guidance to the Bangsamoro youth.”

Cotabato State University gets P39.2-M dorm from BARMM

COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will construct a PHP39.2 million, three-story dormitory inside the Cotabato State University (CSU) here that will cater to students from outside the city.

BARMM, partners plant 750 trees on World Humanitarian Day

COTABATO CITY – In line with the celebration of the World Humanitarian Day (WHD) on August 19, the Bangsamoro Government together with its various humanitarian partners planted 750 saplings in Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipality, Maguindanao.
 
Minister for Interior and Local Government Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, the Mindanao Humanitarian Team (MHT), and the United Nations' Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA), spearheaded the activity at Barangay Labungan of the said municipality.
 

8 BARMM solons seek creation of regional archives office

COTABATO CITY – Eight lawmakers of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have joined hands to author a bill that would strengthen the system management and archival records of the region.

1,600 families in Maguindanao to receive food aid from KAPYANAN Project

COTABATO CITY – About 1,600 indigent families from Maguindanao are set to receive food assistance from the Project Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN) of the Office of the Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim.

On Tuesday, August 17, KAPYANAN Deputy Project Manager Engr. Abdulnasser Usman led the first wave of food packs distribution in the municipalities of Sultan Kudarat and Parang.

The food packs include two sacks of 25-kilogram rice, canned goods, green monggo, salt, cooking oil, sugar, coffee, and a water container.

MSSD allots P87.5-million cash assistance for Marawi IDPs from MAA

COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) has allocated Php 87,530,000.00 cash assistance for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi City’s most affected area (MAA).

The initial payout started last week August 11-12 wherein 636 beneficiaries each received Php5,000.00.
