BARMM is PRRD’s greatest legacy for Muslims: Chief Minister Ebrahim

COTABATO CITY - Chief Minister Ahod “Kagi Murad” Ebrahim of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on Tuesday urged all Bangsamoro not to forget the “greatest legacy” outgoing Pres. Duterte had given them.

Speaking during the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament's fourth regular session, Chief Minister Ebrahim reminded the Bangsamoro people that it was under Pres. Duterte’s administration when the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) was passed.

BARMM eyes revival of barter trading with Asean countries

BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi  – An official of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has one immediate and long term solution for skyrocketing prices of petroleum products in the region.

Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, speaking for BARMM, said the restoration of barter trading in BARMM with ASEAN countries will help stabilize prices of petroleum products before it goes out of reach of ordinary Bangsamoro.

BARMM builds Bongao town hall, tourism center in Tawi-Tawi

COTABATO CITY – The regional government in the Bangsamoro region continues to build infrastructures that will improve basic services to its constituents.

The latest of these projects is the municipal hall of Bongao, the capital of Tawi-Tawi.

Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, minister of the Bangsamoro Ministry of the interior and local government, led the ground breaking ceremonies on Monday.

Sinarimbo personally handed over a check worth P25 million to Mayor Jimuel Que of Bongao for the construction of the new government venter of Bongao.

Bangsamoro Parliament to open fourth regular session

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Transition Authority is set to open here its fourth regular session today, Tuesday, June 14.

The ceremonial opening will highlight the addresses that will be delivered by the Parliament speaker and the chief minister.

BTA Speaker Atty. Pangalian Balindong will deliver his address to the Parliament while Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim will provide updates on the state of the Bangsamoro region and outline the policy agenda of the Government of the day.

7 Moro extremists yield to Army in Maguindanao

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao  – Seven Moro extremists have surrendered to military authorities in Maguindanao claiming they were convinced by fellow gunmen who yield earlier and are now living normal lives.

The surrenderees who were all Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), an outlawed and ISIS linked gunmen operating in Maguindanao, were presented by Lt. Colonel Nathaniel Balintong to First Brigade Combat Team Commander Colonel Leodivic Guinid during ceremonies here Monday afternoon.

P10.2-M worth shabu seized in Lanao Sur

COTABATO CITY --- Authorities seized P10.2 million worth of shabu found Thursday in the hideout of an illegal drug ring in Maguing, Lanao del Sur. 

Faiza Hadjiraof and the couple Amersab Ebra Macabato and Raifa Hadji Rasul Rakim, from whom agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao had seized the illegal merchandise, are now detained. 

Rogelio Daculla, director of PDEA-BARMM, said Saturday the three of them shall be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

5 more BIFF members in Maguindanao surrender

COTABATO CITY - Five more members of the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters from Maguindanao province returned to the fold of law Tuesday, an Army official announced Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Eduardo Gubat of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division said they are to facilitate, along with government agencies, the return of the five men to the local communities.

The BIFF operates in the fashion of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and is blamed for deadly bombings in central Mindanao since 2014.

Vendor slightly hurt in one of two Basilan IED blasts

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao --- An ambulant roadside vendor was slightly hurt (not two as earlier reported-ed) in one of two explosions that rocked Isabela City in Basilan one after another at dusk Monday.

The victim, Evangeline Gudilla Francisco, who sustained superficial shrapnel wounds, is now recuperating in a hospital.

The first blast was in the vicinity of a Jollibee food outlet in the city proper of Isabela.
