PAF holds relief missions in Paeng-hit Mindanao provinces

MANILA – Philippine Air Force (PAF) S-70i "Black Hawk" and Bell-412 combat utility helicopters have conducted rapid damage assessment needs analysis (RDANA) and relief missions over Cotabato and Maguindanao provinces that have been severely affected by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

In a statement late Monday night, PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said these missions were done in coordination with the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing and Tactical Operations Group 12.

PBBM cites need to give medicine kits to Paeng victims in Maguindanao

MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday emphasized the need to distribute emergency supplies of medicines to the victims of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

In a situation briefing in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, Marcos acknowledged that typhoon victims are asking for medicine kits as he instructed the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to facilitate the distribution of medicines needed by those displaced by the typhoon.

"Paeng" death toll in BARMM now at 52, search, retrieval operation continue

COTABATO CITY – The death toll due to Typhoon Paeng in Maguindanao del Norte has risen to 52 as another victim of landslide in Maguindanao del Norte was recovered, the Bangsamoro region relief agency said.

In a situation report released Tuesday morning, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi), said 33 were injured.

READi field personnel continue the search and retrieval operation for 12 other residents who remained missing.

BARMM death toll due to "Paeng" rises to 51 with 14 missing

COTABATO CITY – The death toll of the devastation brought about by Typhoon Paeng in Maguindanao rose to 51 with 14 others still missing, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) today said.

The situation report released by the BARMM’s Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi) Monday morning showed that 31 others were injured, mostly residents of a relocation site in Barangay Kusiong Datu Odin Sinsuat hit by landslides on Thursday dawn.

BARMM's storm death toll now 40

COTABATO CITY --- The death toll from flashfloods and landslides in the adjoining Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur due to Tropical Storm Paeng is now 40, officials announced Saturday.

Emergency responders from the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, the Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi) group of the Bangsamoro government, the Bureau of Fire Protection and the police are still searching for 15 missing persons in areas hit by landslides.

CM Ebrahim declares state of calamity in BARMM; calls for unity amidst TS Paeng devastation

COTABATO CITY — A day after the onslaught of Tropical Storm Paeng, Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim declared a state of calamity in the Bangsamoro region on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. 

The torrential rain caused massive flooding and landslides in some parts of the region—particularly in Cotabato City, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur—which displaced thousands of families and caused widespread damage to properties, infrastructure, power and telecommunications services, and casualties.

Bangsamoro normalization milestones on track: OPAPRU

MANILA – The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) on Wednesday said the shared responsibility of the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has been the key in ensuring the successful normalization track under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

OPAPRU executive director Wilben Mayor said the interventions carried out through the Normalization Program, especially those under its socioeconomic component, are the result of the strong collaboration between the government and the MILF.

New Lamitan LGU anti-drug program launched

COTABATO CITY - Regional law-enforcement officials on Wednesday assured support for a new anti-narcotics program, with humanitarian perspectives, of the Lamitan City local government unit.

Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, said Wednesday reports reaching his office stated that the Lamitan City local government unit launched on October 21 its Community-Based Rehabilitation Program for Drug Reformists (CBRP-DR).

14 new partner hospitals to join BARMM's AMBaG program before year ends

COTABATO CITY— Fourteen new hospitals are expected to join the roster of medical institutions under Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim's Ayudang Medikal Mula sa Bangsamoro Government (AMBaG) before the year ends.

Accordingly, these additional 14 medical institutions will supplement the 28 current partner hospitals of the program strategically found in and out of the Bangsamoro region. Six (6) of these are located in Sulu, three (3) are from Tawi-Tawi, two (2) are from Lanao del Sur, one (1) is from Maguindanao, and another one (1) is from the Province of Palawan.
