DAVAO CITY - To ensure that Gender and Development (GAD) programs, projects, and activities are compliant with relevant GAD policies and are gender-responsive to the issues and mandates of Local Government Units, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) gathered GAD focal persons to a Training Workshop on Analysis Tools: Harmonized GAD Guidelines (HGDG) and Gender Responsive LGU (GeRL) Assessment tools.

DATU SAUDI AMPATUAN, Maguindanao del Sur — After years of living in temporary shelters, internally displaced persons (IDPs), locally known as 'bakwit', in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town of this province will soon have a roof over their heads following a successful groundbreaking ceremony of 84 housing units held Monday.
 
With Php42-million funding from the General Appropriation Acts of the Bangsamoro (GAAB) 2021, the project aims to provide shelter to vulnerable families displaced by human-induced conflict in the area.
 

MARAWI CITY --- Authorities are now validating tips from local sectors that either a local drug ring, or members of the Dawlah Islamiya were behind Friday’s ambush of the convoy of Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr.

Adiong and his immediate aide, Ali Tabao, were both wounded in the attack that left four of their companions, three of them policemen, dead.

The four fatalities, Police Patrolmen Juraiz Adiong, Aga Sumandar and Jalil Cosain, and a driver named Hassanor Pundaodaya, died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

COTABATO CITY — The mapping of Science and Technology intervention and the innovation for BARMM’s grassroots communities has started, following the turnover of the Grassroots Innovation for Inclusive Development (GRIND) Program's Manual during the activity held on Feb. 13-14, 2023 in this city.

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) received the program's manual from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-XI) during the 2-day activity dubbed "SalikLakbay Solutions Mapping Trainer's Training and Immersion". 

COTABATO CITY — Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) is strengthening the public-private sector partnership to ensure better implementation of technical vocational education and training (TVET) program for the Bangsamoro people.

The Education Ministry recently created the Regional Technical Education and Skills Development Committee (RTESDC) that shall oversee and ensure the public delivery of all skills development activities, including the partnership with private institutions in the region. 

COTABATO CITY - The remains of the Marine sergeant killed in an ambush in Lanao del Sur is now in Isabela City in Basilan, relatives hurt with losing a clan member known to them as a responsible family man.

Sgt. John Milbert Pamaran of the 2^nd Marine Battalion and his companions were out for a community outreach mission last February 4 when they were ambushed in Barangay Cabasaran in Marogong, Lanao del Sur by members of the Dawlah Islamiya terrorist group.

COTABATO CITY  – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has poured a total of PHP31.5 million for the construction of 2-storey barangay hall buildings here, officials said today.

Each of the nine villages has an allocation of PHP3.9 million from the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILF), according to BARMM Interior Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo.

COTABATO CITY - For its efficient handling of funds, Lamitan City got a 2022 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) citation from the central office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Officials of the DILG-Region 9 in Zamboanga City told reporters Wednesday that the Lamitan City local government unit is among dozens that got through, without any issue, the SGFH evaluation, a requisite for the release of such special citation.

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro community mourns the demise of the first Wālī Sheikh Khalipha Usman Nando, who passed away at age 81 on Sunday.

Flags in front of the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) at the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC) in this city were lowered to half-staff on Monday morning, Feb. 5, in honor of his passing.

COTABATO CITY - As the new town hall's construction nears completion, excitement is growing both within the Poona Bayabao Municipal Government and throughout the community.

The building will house the mayor's and vice mayor's offices, as well as the Sangguniang Bayan's session hall and the municipal government's mandatory departments and offices.
