9,136 Maranao daycare learners get food supplies

COTABATO CITY - Up to 9,136 learners in 405 child development centers in remote barangays in Lanao del Sur benefited from a food dispersal program last week of the Bangsamoro government, to be expanded soon in its five other constituent provinces.

Ilang governor sa BARMM, nag-petisyon sa Supreme Court na ideklarang “unconstitutional” ang BLGC

COTABATO CITY - Ang petisyon ay inihain kahapon sa Supreme Court laban sa Bangsamoro Autonomy Act 49 o ang BARMM Local Governance Code o BLGC na nilagdaan ni Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim noong nakaraang taon.

Petitioners sina Lanao Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Sulu Gov. Sakur Tan at Maguidnanao Sur Gov. Mariam Mangudadatu, kasama ang mayors league, councilors leage at liga ng barangay ng Maugindanao Sur at Lanao Sur.

Anila, may probisyon ang BLGC na laban sa constitution, local government code, Bangsamoro organic law at sa local autonomy ng mga LGUs.

15-day morale recovery leave proposed for officials, employees in BARMM

COTABATO CITY — To promote religious freedom and moral uprightness among officials and employees in the Bangsamoro region, Member of Parliament Dr. Hashemi Dilangalen has filed BTA Bill No. 276, or the "Moral Recovery Leave Act."
 
The proposed legislation will grant Bangsamoro government officials and employees up to 15 days of leave to participate in religious, faith-based, or spiritual practices and activities.
 

CM Ebrahim stresses vital role of partnership, collaboration in BARMM's development

DAVAO CITY — BARMM Chief Minister Ebrahim highlighted the significant role of partnerships in fostering the development of the region during the 3rd Bangsamoro International Development Partners Forum (BIDPF) on February 16, 2024, in this city.
 
With the theme "Strengthening Partnership and Collaboration Towards Sustainable Peace and Development in BARMM," the forum provided a platform to highlight significant milestones achieved from 2019 to 2023 and to discuss the Bangsamoro Knowledge Portal, among other key initiatives.
 

DMW, NCMF to further protect, empower Muslim OFWs

MANILA – The Department of Migrants Workers (DMW) and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) on Thursday signed an agreement for the overall welfare of Muslim Filipino migrant workers as well as those who wish to work abroad.

DMW Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac and NCMF Officer-in-Charge Yusoph Mando signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) that outlines a comprehensive support mechanism for Muslim OFWs.

P6.8-M worth shabu seized in another Lanao del Sur PDEA bust

COTABATO CITY - Anti-narcotics agents confiscated P6.8 million worth of shabu from two dealers who fell in another entrapment operation in Lanao del Sur province on Wednesday.

Gil Cesario Castro, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said on Thursday morning that the duo, Jamel Dimaporo, 29, and his 19-year-old accomplice, Jalil Macaayong, shall be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

BTA backs Cha-Cha moves

COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliament has expressed support to calls for charter change to resolve Constitutional issues in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement (CAB) that necessitates amendment of the 1987 Constitution.

The stance of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) was contained in Parliament Resolution No. 521 which the regional lawmakers unanimously adopted on Wednesday afternoon.

OPAPRU assures corruption has no place in MILF decommissioning process

MANILA – The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) assured that it would not tolerate irregularities in the implementation of the decommissioning process for former combatants of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Senator asks OPAPRU to ensure MILF combatants' proper use of cash aid

MANILA – Senator Raffy Tulfo has asked the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) to include in the decommissioning process the requirement for Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) combatants to sign a document assuring that the PHP100,000 cash aid they get would be properly spent.

Tulfo, in a public hearing of the Committee on Defense and Security, Peace, Unification and Reconciliation Tuesday, asked OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. to strengthen the implementation of the ongoing decommissioning process.

IP community benefits clean water source from Bangsamoro Government

COTABATO CITY — In a significant development for the residents of Barangay Kinitaan in Upi, Maguindanao del Norte, approximately 1,377 individuals now have access to a reliable source of clean water. This achievement comes as the newly completed solar-powered water system level II was officially turned over to the village on February 14.
 
Funded by the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA), the water system worth P3-million can produce 4,000 liters of clean water and features 10 tap stands strategically positioned to serve the community's needs.
