63 North Cotabato barangays get infra support

NORTH COTABATO --- Local officials assured Wednesday to help oversee the concreting by the Bangsamoro government of farm-to-market roads in 63 barangays in this province.

Officials of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and counterparts in North Cotabato province, among them Gov. Nancy Catamco, launched Monday the initial one-kilometer road project each in the 63 barangays.

New BARMM tripartite industrial council for transition extension too

COTABATO CITY - A new tripartite industrial peace council has passed a resolution favoring a three-year extension of the tenure of the interim parliament of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The Bangsamoro Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, or BTIPC, will function under the watch of its organizer, the Ministry of Labor and Employment-BARMM.

BARMM Labor Minister Romeo Sema said Wednesday the council was organized only last Monday during a conference in Cotabato City among stakeholders.

COTABATO CITY --- It was relatives of the large-scale shabu dealer busted in a P20.4 million shabu deal in Jolo, Sulu on Sunday who gave him away.

Juvenal Azurin, director of the Philippine Drug-Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Monday Ejek Abdulhalim, entrapped in Jolo noontime Sunday, shall be prosecuted for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.

BARMM's online skills and livelihood education center launched 

COTABATO CITY - Officials are expecting hundreds to enroll in the Bangsamoro government’s new online livelihood education program for those who lost jobs, or whose productivity got marginalized by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The facility, dubbed Tech4Ed Center, was established jointly by the Ministry of Labor and Employment-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

4.2K healthcare workers in BARMM to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19

COTABATO CITY — All of Bangsamoro region’s more than 4,000 frontline healthcare workers will receive complete doses of vaccines against Covid-19, a regional health official said.  

Health Minister Dr. Amirel Usman said 4,200 healthcare workers across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are the first to start receiving the two doses of vaccine jabs this month.

The second dose, Usman added, will be inoculated after four weeks to fully reinforce the protection in the first vaccine shot.

Maguindanao town to have municipal hall

TALAYAN, Maguindanao - Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim of the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) today led the ground breaking for the construction of 2-storey town hall building here, Minister Naguib Sinarimbo said.

Sinarimbo, BARMM interior and local government minister, said Minister Ebrahim was accompanied by Mayor Ali Midtimbang.

The project is funded by the Office of the Chief Minister and is being implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government.

Basilan leaders favor extension of ARMM-to-BARMM transition

COTABATO CITY --- The Basilan Sangguniang Panlalawigan endorsed the proposal for a three-year extension of the transition from the defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to the infant Bangsamoro self-governing entity.

Gov. Jim Salliman said Saturday members of the Basilan SP passed last March 4 a resolution expressing favor for such extension. 

Tandag mayor cited for supporting BARMM relief mission

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro government expressed gratitude Wednesday to Tandag City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel for helping facilitate an outreach operation for hundreds of her typhoon-stricken constituents last week.

The local government, health and social welfare ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao facilitated the relief mission in Tandag City, badly hit by Typhoon Auring that slammed the Caraga Region about two weeks ago.

“The Bangsamoro government is thankful to the mayor of Tandag for helping us out,” Sinarimbo said Wednesday.

BARMM Gov’t, stakeholders pledge to end malnutrition for healthier community

COTABATO CITY — Bangsamoro Government and other stakeholders vowed to end malnutrition in the region during the launching of Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2020-2022 on Friday. 

RPAN 2020-2022 is a strategic and comprehensive plan to respond with the nutritional problems in the Bangsamoro region.

BARMM sends relief supplies to typhoon-stricken Tandag City  

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro government dispatched Friday more than 10 tons of relief provisions for typhoon-stricken communities in Tandag City in Surigao del Sur.

Surigao del Sur is in the Caraga Region, about 12 hours away via overland travel from the Bangsamoro regional capitol in Cotabato City.
