BARMM’s greater healthcare inclusivity in sight

DAVAO CITY — Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Health (MOH) is working towards improving access to healthcare programs for indigent patients in the region.
 
This came after the successful conduct of the 2023 Malasakit Center’s inaugural consultative meeting for the Mindanao and Visayas regions from Oct. 4 to 6.
 
With 195 delegates, the event is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the implementation of the Malasakit Program and Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients (MAIP).

Kampanya kontra dengue, mas pinalakas ng DOH 12

KORONADAL CITY - Magsuot ng mga pantalon, damit na may mahabang manggas at ugaling gumamit ng mosquito repellant para labanan ang dengue.

Ito ang payo sa mga mamamayan ni DOH 12 Spokesperson Arjohn Gangoso.

Hinihikayat din ni Gangoso ang publiko na suportahan ang fogging operations na ginagawa kung tumaas ang kaso ng dengue sa kanilang komunidad.

Ipinahayag ito ni Gangoso kasunod din ng pagpapaigting ng kampanya kontra dengue ng DOH katuwang ang mga healthcare workers at Rural Health Units.

Family of doctors starts free services to soldiers, former rebels

COTABATO CITY – A family of doctors is providing free medical services to the personnel and families of the Army’s 102nd Infantry Brigade (Bde) and its Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Active Auxiliary Units (CAA) in the Zamboanga Sibugay province.

“Our primary objective is to ensure that soldiers and their families have access to quality healthcare services without any financial burden,” said Dr. Amy T. Adona, co-administrator of the Tagaloguin-Adona Polymedic and Diagnostic Center Incorporated (TAPDCI) based in Ozamiz City, in a statement Tuesday.

Solon files bill to combat obesity, malnutrition among learners

COTABATO CITY – A member of the Bangsamoro legislative body has proposed a bill seeking to prohibit the sale and distribution of unhealthy food within public and private schools across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“This is to address the growing concerns of obesity and malnutrition among students,” Engr. Bai Intan Adil-Ampatuan, a member of the region’s Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) parliament said Friday.

20 N. Cotabato high school students test positive for dengue

COTABATO CITY – Twenty students of a public school in M’lang town in North Cotabato have tested positive for the dengue virus, an official said Tuesday.

M’lang rural health unit dengue coordinator Minerva Suriaga said 27 students of New Rizal High School had earlier manifested signs of dengue-like fever and skin rashes but 20 have been confirmed so far to be infected by the disease.

“There’s a pond near the school and the water there is stagnant,” Suriaga said, adding that the abandoned pond was not part of the school compound.

Classes shut in Upi school after insecticide downs about 100 pupils

COTABATO CITY - Mayor Rona Piang-Flores of Upi, Maguindanao del Norte has ordered the suspension of classes at Mirab Elementary School where more than 100 children were downed after accidentally inhaling mist of insecticides sprayed to coconut trees nearby.

“This is for decontamination, classes will remain suspended until further notice,” Flores told DXMS Radyo Bida. “I want to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our school children and teachers.”

Pitong bagong kaso ng COVID-19 infections, naitala sa Kidapawan

PITONG TAGA KIDAPAWAN CITY ang kabilang sa 19 na bagong kaso ng COVID 19 infections sa rehiyhon na naitala kahapon.

SA daily bulletin ng DOH Center for Health Development 12, makikita na may 24 pasyente ang gumaling, siyam rito ay taga Kidapawan City.

Dalawang taga Gen. Santos City ang namatay kahapon dahil sa complication sa COVID-19.

May 117 katao naman ang nanatili sa hospital o isolation facility at nagpapagaling.

BARMM eyes 95% immunization coverage vs. polio, measles

COTABATO CITY – Health frontliners in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are aiming to immunize at least 95 percent of children against polio and measles.

BARMM health officials launched Tuesday its regionwide campaign dubbed “Chikiting Ligtas: Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine (MR-OPV SIA)” for the protection of children against the diseases.

The campaign will involve vaccinating children aged 0–59 months against measles and giving them oral polio vaccines.

Bangsamoro MP member's eye care services proceed amid Ramadhan

COTABATO CITY - The doctor in the Bangsamoro parliament assured Thursday to continue with his medical outreach projects for the poor during the Islamic Ramadhan season that started Thursday.

Residents in Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte and in the 63 barangays in different towns in Cotabato province under the Bangsamoro government had told reporters they are apprehensive that their appointments with eye specialist Kadil Sinolinding, Jr. could be stalled, meantime, due to the Ramadhan season.
