MATALAM, Cotabato --- Forty people were rushed to hospitals Saturday, just three days after feasting on food contaminated with Entamoeba histolytica during a traditional gathering in a farming village here.

The victims were rushed to hospitals due to recurring painful abdominal spasms, nausea and diarrhea, according to local officials.

Matalam Vice Mayor Ralph Ryan Rafael said Sunday the victims, mostly related to each other by blood, got sick after eating food served during a traditional “pamanhikan” in a farming village here last Tuesday.

COTABATO CITY – The Ministry of Public Works in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) turned over Friday a PHP27-million coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) isolation facility in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

The beneficiary, the Datu Odin Sinsuat District Hospital (DOSDH), received the 100-bed capacity facility coinciding with the hospital's 30th anniversary.

It is the 13th facility of its kind in the province.

Batay rin sa latest data ng MOH, nasa 11 katao na ang binawian ng buhay dahil sa naturang virus. Nabatid na zero fatality noong nakaraang taon.

COTABATO CITY – North Cotabato's health authorities have raised the alarm on the rising cases of dengue in the province that reached 1,136 from January to June this year.

“This is 390 percent higher compared to the same period last year,” Dr. Eva Rabaya, North Cotabato's Integrated Provincial Health Office chief, said Tuesday.

Rabaya said North Cotabato’s lone city and 17 municipalities have listed only 229 cases in 2021.

Payo naman nin Parayao sa publiko para hindi na lumala pa ang karamdaman agad na magpatingin sa pinakalamapit na ospital.

Ito ay kapag nakaramdam na ng sintomas ng dengue tulad ng lagnat, bleeding sa gums at ilong, at rashes.

MANILA – President Rodrigo R. Duterte on Monday expressed hope that the monkeypox outbreak being reported mostly in Europe would not be as fatal as coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In a prerecorded Talk to the People, Duterte requested Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Dr. Abdullah Dumama to explain how dangerous monkeypox is.

Dumama said the mortality rate of the rare viral disease is only about one percent.

MANILA – National Task Force Against Covid-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. on Sunday announced he has tested positive for Covid-19.

It is the first time he contracted Covid-19 despite being always out since the pandemic was declared in March 2020 as President Rodrigo Duterte tasked him to lead the country’s Covid-19 response.

In a statement, he said he tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing his weekly reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test on Sunday.

COTABATO CITY --- Personnel of the Cotabato Sanitarium in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao were elated with the enactment of Republic Act 11715 expanding it into a 250-bed hospital

President Rodrigo Duterte signed RA 11715 into law April 29, 2022.

Physician Ibrahim Pangato, chief of the Cotabato Sanitarium in Pinaring area in Sultan Kudarat town said Thursday they are thankful to President Duterte and to Maguindanao 1^st District Representative Ronnie Sinsuat for sponsoring the bill that was to become RA 11715.

KORONADAL CITY Isinugod sa Lake Sebu Municipal Hospital kagabi ang 108 katao matapos mgreklamo ng matinding pananakit ng tiyan at pagkahilo dahil sa hinalang sila biktima ng food poisoning sa Lake Sebu.
