P13.6-M shabu seized in Indanan, Sulu

SULU - More operations are seen against illegal drugs as coordination among law enforcers was revitalized with aggressiveness and determination to end illegal drug trade in the Bangsamoro region as displayed during the drug buy-bust operation conducted by combined elements of PRO BAR, PDEA, CIDG, RIU, SAF, and AKG on December 4, 2021 at KM2, Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu that resulted to the confiscation of P13.6 million worth of shabu and arrest of four illegal drugs peddlers.

Off-duty cop saves lives in MSU-Marawi shooting

CAMP S.K. PENDATUN, Maguindanao – Police authorities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on Friday lauded an off-duty police officer who quickly responded to a shooting incident inside a state university campus in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, BARMM Police director, said the timely response of an off-duty police officer saved the lives of three students during the incident on Thursday morning.

MAMASAPANO, Maguindanao --- Soldiers killed the new leader of the Dawlah Islamiya terror group in a brief encounter in Barangay Dabenayan before dawn Thursday.

Abu Azim Karinda --- who assumed last month the leadership of the Dawlah Islamiya following the October 28 death of predecessor Salahuddin Hassan in a shootout with soldiers in Talayan, Maguindanao --- died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police seize in Sulu P3.6-M worth of smuggled fuel

COTABATO CITY --- The police foiled Wednesday an attempt to smuggle P3.6 million worth of petroleum products to Sulu from somewhere in the country’s border with Malaysia.

Personnel of the police’s Regional Maritime Unit-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region immediately impounded the small vessel, carrying diesel and gasoline in blue plastic drums, that they intercepted while near the island town of Panglima Tahil, Sulu.

The boat captain and members of his crew were detained for questioning.


3 persons, including a senior and a minor survive electrocution

Ayon sa kanilang kaanak na si Luvinia Purales, aksidente anyang nasagi ng 11-years old na lalaki ang kanilang sampayan na may live wire. Tinangka siyang iligtas isa niyang pinsan na nakuryente rin.

Ang kanyang lola naman na senior citizen ay nakahawak rin sa 11 years old na apo kung saan nabatid na basa ang kanyang katawan dahilan para umabot sa tatlo ang nakuryente.


PRO-12 director pays surprised tribute to injured subordinate

MLANG, North Cotabato  – Police Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, police regional director for the Soccsksargen region Thursday paid a courtesy visit to an injured subordinate here that sent the police officer teary eyed.

Retired Police Master Sgt. Rick Untalan was part of the augmentation force of North Cotabato Polcie Office, then headed by Colonel Alex Tagum, that helped dispersed a group of violent protesters in Kidapawan City on April 1, 2016.


Six more BIFF bandits surrender to 40th IB Army

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao --- Six followers of a wanted leader of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters surrendered Wednesday and pledged allegiance to the government.

The six henchmen of Kagui Karialan, leader of one of three factions in the BIFF, yielded through the intercession of officials of the Army’s 40th Infantry Battalion and leaders in Datu Paglas town in Maguindanao.

Ex-soldier nabbed for extortion in North Cotabato

PIKIT, North Cotabato  – Alert police officers arrested today a former soldier who tried to extort money from Pikit Mayor Sumulong Sultan during an entrapment operation, police said.

He was the second former soldiers nabbed by police during law enforcement operation in North Cotabato the past two days.

Major Maxim Peralta, Pikit municipal police office chief, identified the suspect as Ryan Calayan Maborrang, 33, a resident of Barangay Gen. Luna, Carmen, North Cotabato.
