2 drug peddlers fall, yield P1.3-M shabu in Marawi buy bust

MARAWI CITY – Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested here Tuesday, Feb. 6, and police authorities seized from them P1.3 million worth of prohibited drugs.

Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, police director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM), did not name the suspects but they were entrapped at 5 p.m. in Barangay Gadongan, Marawi City.

NObleza said joint police forces in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City conducted the buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of about 200 grams of shabu with an estimated cost of P1,300,000.

P6.9-M worth shabu confiscated in Lanao del Sur

COTABATO CITY - Anti-narcotics agents seized P6.9 million worth of shabu from a dealer entrapped on Tuesday in Barangay Bugaran in Poona Bayabao town in Lanao del Sur.

Gil Cesario Castro, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said on Wednesday morning that they are now in custody of the large-scale shabu dealer Lawa Pitila Abedin, 47, to be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PNP: 3.3K loose arms seized, 18 crime groups dismantled since Jan. 1

MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it has confiscated more than 3,300 loose firearms across the country and dismantled 18 criminal groups in operations from Jan. 1 to Feb. 2 this year.

In a press briefing at Camp Crame, Quezon City, PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. said these operations also resulted in the arrest of 709 persons and the recovery, surrender, or confiscation of 3,384 firearms in violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

2 peddlers nabbed in Maguindanao Norte, Tacurong City

KORONADAL CITY - Two shabu peddlers - one suspected of being a “killer-for-hire,” an extortionist and cattle thief, and the other among the top ten most wanted trafficker in Region 12 - were arrested in separate entrapment operations late Monday in Maguindanao del Norte province and nearby Tacurong City.

The first to fall in the two anti-narcotics stings was Joe Andy Hejosa Libres, entrapped by combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 and plainclothes policemen from units of the Police Regional Office-12 in Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong City.
