In pursuit of the Universal Health Care to ensure all Filipinos from all walks of life, PhilHealth XII launched the opening of its Service Desk at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat on May 16, 2019.

KORONADAL CITY – The Department of Health in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) has reported 17 deaths due to dengue since January 1 to April 20 this year.

Jenny Panizales, speaking for dengue prevention campaign of DOH-12, said during the same period, 4,631 patients have been hospitalized.

Panizales said the number of dengue patients is 159 percent higher as compared to the same period last year.

Cristina, 25,
lives with her husband and three children in the remote village of Sofan in Alabel,
Sarangani province.

She recalled
the difficulty of giving birth seven years ago when there was no maternity
clinic or hospital. She said it was a dark and rainy night, she and her husband
were on board a truck going to a hospital in General Santos City.

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Nineteen cases of measles were reported by health authorities in
North and South Cotabato since January.

In North
Cotabato, Dr. Eva Rabaya, provincial health chief, said all the 13 patients are
now safe and recovering although they remained in government hospitals, some in
private facilities.

Rabaya
admitted many children, nine year’s old and above, have not been given vaccines
after parents refused to bring their children to health facilities due the Dengvaxia
scare last year.

KALAMANSIG, Sultan Kudarat - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Region 12 has reached out to members of Indigenous Peoples to educate them of how to avail of their benefits under PhilHealth, a health insurance official said.Dr. Miriam Grace Pamonag, MD, PhiHealth-regional vice president, said the activity was a joint project of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (Unicef) and other government agencies that cater to health and social services. Life Ordinance organized by the Alabel municipal local government unit in
