Under Kidapawan rehab program, druggies now live normal, happy lives

KIDAPAWAN CITY
— A post-drug dependent program of the local government here has tremendously
changed the lives of drug personalities who voluntarily yielded last year,
admitted drug addiction and subjected to rehabilitation.

Under the Balik
Pangarap Program, 1,082 former drug personalities are now living normal lives
with their loved ones in various communities of Kidapawan City’s 40 villages,
Joel Aguirre, program coordinator and former drug dependent, said of the programa
launched in August last year.

NNC trains stakeholders on nutrition during emergencies

COTABATO CITY -- The Cotabato City Office on Health Services has recognized the agency’s nurses and midwives who
worked hard and gave their best to their work last 2016.

awards were given to the health personnel who achieved the highest percentage of
achievements in the implementation of OHS’s programs such as Safe Motherhood,
Family Planning, Expanded Program of Immunization and the National Tuberculosis
Program.

South Cotabato man died after trying to enlarge his penis

KORONADAL CITY – A 22-year-old teen dreaming of enlarging his penis through injection ended up dead believed to be due to tetanus, Radyo Bida Koronadal reported today.The boy, named only as Tata is a resident of Sto Nino, South Cotabato. He died at the South Cotabato provincial hospital. A relative said Tata and three other companions bought a medicine and syringe from a local drug store. They injected the medicine into their private parts without doctor's prescription.He said Tata was the last to use the same syringe in injecting the enlarger.

ARMM-funded water facilities boost regional health thrusts

COTABATO CITY – The government’s campaign against water-borne diseases is now easier to pursue in many Moro areas with newly-built facilities now supplying clean drinking water to thousands of houses.Physician Kadil Sinolinding, Jr, regional health secretary of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), said on Sunday among these facilities are the new reservoir in Maluso, Basilan and the now functional Sagay-Sagay water supply system in Sulu.

Firecracker related injuries in Region 12 now at 33

KORONADAL CITY -- The number of firecracker-related injuries in the SOCCKSARGEN region, as of January 2, rose to 33 as the Department of Health (DOH-12) continue to receive reports from various health stations across Region 12. Jenny Ventura, DOH-12 focal person on injury related cases monitoring system, said the number was still way below as compared to the same period last year. The number is way below, and we have no reported stray bullet victim, she said. Hopefully, next time around we have zero casualty. That is good news, said Supt.
