DATU HOFFER, Maguindanao  - Even an armed conflict have not stopped health providers in Maguindanao to conduct massive anti-polio vaccination, a health official said.

This amid reports that two of seven confirmed polio cases in the country were from the province.

Military surgical offensives have been on going in most part of Maguindanao’s second district against Dawla Islamiya terrorist group and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), the first phase of polio vaccination was successfully implemented.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has released a new contribution schedule for its Direct Contributors in accordance to the Universal Health Care Law of 2019 and its implementing rules and regulations.

Direct contributors refer to those who are gainfully employed and bound by an employer-employee relationship. In addition, Kasambahays, self-earning individuals, practicing professionals and Overseas Filipino Workers belong to this membership category as well.

KORONADAL CITY - To recognize employers in the Soccsksargen region who had been performing well in terms of collecting, remitting and reporting their monthly contribution to Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, PhilHealth Region 12 has conducted the PEER's Congress on Thursday at Villa Amor.

PEER refers to PhilHealth Employers' Engagement Representatives.

They are the point persons handling collection, remittance and reports of employees' and employers' contributions to PhilHealth.

MANILA -- The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported the third confirmed polio case in the country.

In a statement, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said the third polio victim was a four-year-old female from Datu Piang in Maguindanao, who did not receive a single dose of the oral polio vaccine (OPV).

Initially reported as a case of acute flaccid paralysis after a consultation at the Cotabato Regional Medical Center on Sept. 26, Duque said the girl manifested fever, diarrhea, vomiting and muscle pain.

KORONADAL CITY - Effective October 21, 2019, the General Santos Doctors Hospital, Inc. (GSDH) suspension of accreditation order shall be held in abeyance as directed by the PhilHealth Arbitration Office, PhilHealth Region 12 said in a statement.

Members and their qualified dependents may now continue availing of their PhilHealth benefits from GSDH.

The same hospital may continue filing benefit claims in terms of services they have provided to the members and PhilHealth Region XII may receive, process and pay all of their filed claims.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has suspended and withdrawn the accreditation of three major private healthcare providers in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) due to alleged fraud.

Dr. Antoniette Ladio, acting regional vice president of PhilHealth-12, said on Saturday they issued a writ of execution of suspension to the General Santos Doctors Hospital Inc. (GSDHI) here.
