MANILA -- President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night announced the suspension of classes in all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) from March 10 to 14 as the cases of the new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the country rose to 24.

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has issued a proclamation formally declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the Philippines after the health department reported the first known local transmission of the new coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

MANILA — Albay Rep. Joey Salceda on Monday suggested a one-week suspension of all work and classes in Metro Manila to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Salceda, chair of the House ways and means committee, made the proposal after new cases of the coronavirus in the country were recorded in Quezon City, Pasig and Marikina.

COTABATO CITY  --- Officials launched Monday Task Force NCov covering Lamitan City to enforce measures preventing the spread of the  2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19 in its constituent-barangays.

Basilan Gov. Jim Salliman and Lamitan City Mayor Rose Furigay have agreed to cooperate in overseeing the operation of the task force.

COTABATO CITY— The provincial governments in Lanao del Sur and Basilan have imposed tighter measures versus the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19. 

Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr. said Saturday his office, their league of barangay captains, the Integrated Provincial Health Office and the Bangsamoro local government and health agencies are jointly guarding the province from COVID-19. 

KIDAPAWAN CITY — An official of this city has said that nine persons, who recently traveled abroad where corona virus accute respiratory disease exist, have been placed under monitoring. 

Atty. Paulo Evangelista, city information chief, said the City Health Office did not disclose from which countries the nine PUMs had traveled, but CHO personnel are now closely monitoring their health.

“We call on the public to be calm and be vigilant,” Evangelista said, assuring the people of Kidapawan that the LGU is working hard on the matter.

BUAL, Tulunan - North Governor Nancy Catamco joins the African Swine Fever (ASF) Provincial Task Force as it opened Thursday the Provincial Quarantine Station in Bual, Tulunan.

The activity is included on the recent ASF prevention action plan crafted by the Provincial ASF-Task Force following the marching order Catamco.

The Quarantine station will serve 24 hours on seven days routine (24/7) to ensure that ASF will be prevented into affecting the swine industry of the province.
