PARANG, Maguindanao  – Police authorities in the Bangsamoro region have actively participationg in the “Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio” while perfomring their duties as peacekeepers.

At 9 a.m. Thursday in a police checkpoint in the village of Pinantao, Parang, Maguindanao, police officers, led by Lt. Colonel Edgar Putiz, chief of Regional Health Service Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, administer vaccination to children on board passing vehicles with their parents to ensure they are protected from polio virus.

COTABATO CITY --- For the second day now since Monday, health workers and police teams continued administering anti-polio vaccines to children onboard vehicles at checkpoints in the city.

A big number of children were given oral anti-polio vaccines Monday in a joint vaccination drive by the Regional Police Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, the Department of Health-12 and the City Health Office in keeping with the national government’s anti-polio campaign.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - "Kaya nating labanan ang sakit na polio sa pamamagitan ng kalinisan at bakuna."

Ito ang naging pahayag ni Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco sa ginanap na send off ng “Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio” kahapon ng umaga sa Amas Provincial Capitol.

Kasama sa ginanap na seremonya si IPHO Chief Dra. Eva Rabaya at Board Member Philbert Malaluan.

Layon ng aktibidad na mapag ibayo ang kampanya kontra polio sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng tatlong ulit na patak sa mga batang 0 hanga't 59 buwan.

The new cases were confirmed by ground health providers one case each in the towns of Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Rajah Buayan, Datu Piang, Datu Hofer, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Datu Abdullah Sangki and Datu Anggal Midtimbang, according to Dr. Elizabeth Samama, Maguindanao health chief.

KORONADAL CITY - As a result of the continuing implementation of Indigent Program sponsored by the National Government, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has just renewed coverage of Indirect Contributor members under the Listahanan, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) beneficiaries.

With immediate eligibility under the Universal Health Care Program, members under this sector are guaranteed of PhilHealth benefits.

COTABATO CITY --- A 53-year-old woman succumbed to dehydration while 118 others are now in hospitals after feasting on food served in a party over the weekend in the upland Arakan town in North Cotabato.

The victims first complained of painful abdominal spasms and started throwing up about an hour after dining together in a gathering in Barangay Salasang, Arakan.

Health workers and emergency responders immediately rushed them to different hospitals in North Cotabato for treatment.

DATU HOFFER, Maguindanao  - Even an armed conflict have not stopped health providers in Maguindanao to conduct massive anti-polio vaccination, a health official said.

This amid reports that two of seven confirmed polio cases in the country were from the province.

Military surgical offensives have been on going in most part of Maguindanao’s second district against Dawla Islamiya terrorist group and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), the first phase of polio vaccination was successfully implemented.
