Mayor Miguel, PhilHealth exec sign MOA for PhilHealth new building

KORONADAL CITY - "Maabot ang adlaw nga indi na kami mag renta kay may ara na kami sarili nga building dri. Kanami Koronadal! God bless! (Time will come that we will no longer pay for the rental fee since we will have our own building soon. Kanami Koronadal! God bless!"
These were the words of Philippine Health Insurance Corporaton (PhilHealth-12) Acting Regional Vice President (ARVP) Marjorie A. Cabrieto aftrer signing the deed of donation of a lot for PhilHealth use with Mayor Peter Miguel, MD of Koronadal City.
Three days before this signing ceremony, PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Rey B. Ferrer, came over for the same activity. However, said signing was done during the multi-sectoral forum at The Farm, Carpenter Hill where various PhilHealth stakeholders were present to witness the proceedings.
Although the city mayor wished to have joined the event but he was not able to make it because of his prior commitments. In his absence, Koronadal City administrator Cyrus Jose Urbano, signed the document as one of the witnesses.
Mayor Miguel said the lot was intended for commercial purposes but he decided to have it donated for PhilHealth use so the office will stay in the city.
In an earlier negotiation with him and PhilHealth XII, he said that anything concerning government health program is close to his heart; thus he had the lot for free for PhilHealth.
Basically, the content of agreement is for PhilHealth to occupy a prime area with 2,089 sq.m. range at the Soccsksargen Regional Center where other Regional Offices of government agencies are also situated.
Customized PhilHealth building has already its budget and is expected to be set up soon. Its groundbreaking ceremony is tentatively set on June 17, 2019 with the presence again of PhilHealth CEO.
