5 men yield P102-K shabu in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY – Five persons, including a minor, were arrested while PHP102,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized during an operation at a drug den in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Thursday night, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) reported.

Anthony Naïve, head of PDEA-Maguindanao, said they arrested James Patrick Cadeco Baclay, the principal target, Tawing Dimitiman Falcasantos, Tantan Batao Mustapa, Ali Emran Tamamo Pundag, and a “rescued” minor.

Bill filed granting permanent status to long-serving teachers

COTABATO CITY— Four members of the Bangsamoro Parliament filed a bill granting permanent status to non-Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) passers who have served for at least ten years of efficient service in the region.

BTA Bill No. 122, also known as the "Provisional Teachers Act of 2021," intends to recognize the provisional teachers' contribution, expertise, and years of service in the region.

Machinegun ammunition smuggling attempt foiled

COTABATO CITY --- Policemen seized 654 rounds of 7.62 caliber machinegun ammunition from a smuggler intercepted in Parang town in Maguindanao Sunday.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, on Monday identified the suspect as Junel Amocay Jimenez, a resident of Barangay San Pedro, Pagadian City.

3 arrested in South Cotabato for possession of explosives

KORONADAL CITY --- Soldiers foiled Sunday an attempt by three persons to smuggle a grenade and an improvised explosive device into the town proper of Banga, South Cotabato.

Col. Jemuel Siason, director of the South Cotabato provincial police, identified the suspects as Merlyn Bansil Guisan, 42, Ronald Olin Bansil, 27, and the 30-year-old Andy Gelodin Meno, now locked in a detention facility of the Banga municipal police.

25 ex-users complete 6-month drug rehab in NoCot town

COTABATO CITY – Twenty-five former drug users completed on Friday six months of community-based drug rehabilitation program (CBRP) in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.

Pigcawayan Mayor Jean Dino Roquero said the rehabilitation of the 25 successful CBRP graduates began in March this year under the close monitoring and supervision of barangay officials and their respective families.

P3.4-M worth shabu seized in Cotabato City bust

COTABATO CITY --- Anti-narcotics agents seized P3.4 million worth of shabu from a dealer entrapped here noontime Thursday with the help of local officials.

The suspect, Benjamin Kolod Roger, is now clamped down in a detention facility here of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Gilbert Buenafe, director of PDEA-BARMM, said Bolod fell in a sting in Kalaw Street in Federville Subdivision here, laid with the help of city government officials and the police.
