Australia-Philippines "Army to Army exercises begin inside 6th ID camp

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao Norte - The Philippines-Australia Army-to-Army Exercise 2023-1 was formally opened during a ceremony held at the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division Grandstand, Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on February 20, 2023.

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat  – Five Moro extremists have surrendered Sunday (Feb. 19) to police authorities in the province, a day after state forces neutralized a violent exteremists' leader in nearby Tacurong City.

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, police director for the Soccsksargen region, said the extremists who belonged to the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) also denounced their members to the armed terrorist group and pledged allegiance to the Philippine flag.

Delivery of P850K worth shabu to Cotabato City foiled

COTABATO CITY - Authorities foiled Saturday an attempt by two couriers to deliver P850,000 worth of shabu from Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur to a contact here.

Christian Frivaldo, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, told reporters Monday they are now in custody of Ben Mohammad and his companion, a woman named Meri Baluta.

Mohammad and Baluta were intercepted by PDEA-BARMM agents and policemen at Lower Taviran in Kabuntalan town in Maguindanao del Norte, together in a vehicle supposedly en route to this city.

2 more hurt in latest gun attacks in Pikit

COTABATO CITY - Two more residents were seriously hurt in separate gun attacks Thursday in Pikit town in Cotabato, where more than 40 people had been killed in shooting incidents in the past 24 months.

Gunmen first shot and wounded in an ambush at about 2:00 p.m. Thursday a motorcycle-riding Moro man named Guima Lopez while motoring through a road in Pikit.

About five minutes later, an attacker shot with a .45 caliber pistol a Grade 9 Visayan student named Justine Ababon while inside a roadside store not too far from where Lopez was attacked.
