Fire hits Cotabato City mega market anew

COTABATO CITY - Tinatayang nasa 30-40 na mga stalls ang natupok sa sunog na naganap sa mega market kaninang madaling araw sa Cotabato City.

Mabilis na kumalat ang apoy dahil ilan sa mga bahagi ng nasabing stalls ay gawa sa light materials.

Ayon sa pahayag ng isang barangay kagawad, wala namang naitalang casualty sa nasabing sunog.

Nabatid na ang nasabing mga stalls ay may iba’t-ibang paninda.

Sa ngayon, inaalam na ng Cotabato City Bureau of Fire Protection o BFP ang kabuuang danyos ng naturang sunog.


3 BIFF yield to Army in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao  -- Three members of the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) have decided to surrender to government authorities, the military here announced Monday.

The BIFF with their firearms voluntarily surrendered to the Army’s 57th Infantry (Masikap) Battalion in Sitio Iking, Barangay Romongaob, South Upi, Maguindanao Sunday.

According to Colonel Eduardo Gubat, 603rd Infantry Brigade Commander, those who surrendered to 57IB under Lt. Col. Jonathan Pondanera belonged to BIFF-Bungos Faction.


Tension, commotion hit Maguindanao Comelec office

DATU BLAH SINSUAT, Maguindanao  – Political observers in a Maguindanao town have already seen a preview of what it is likely during election day next year.

During the hearing of the Election Registration Board, an argument ensued between people who have the same family name where the town was named after - Sinsuat.

Policemen and members of the Philippine Marines have to be deployed during the ERB hearing where Bai Ingrid Sinsuat was being opposed by four residents of Baranagay Resa.


Cotabato City SK official ranks 8th in nursing board exam

COTABATO CITY --- The Sangguniang Kabataan chairperson of Barangay Kalanganan here ranked eighth among the top 10 passers of July 3-4, 2021 Philippine nursing licensure exam.

Local sectors, including officials of the Cotabato City local government unit, were elated with the feat of Princess Haniefa Mae Kasim Ayunan and posted on Facebook greetings in different vernaculars.

Ayunan, who is of Iranun Descent, is a resident of Barangay Kalanganan Mother, a seaside area northwest of Cotabato City.

KIDAPAWAN CITY --- The widow of Sulu plane crash fatality Cpl. Reynel Matundin is ranting over what is for her slow process in identifying the remains of her husband.

Annie Matundin, a resident of Kabacan town in North Cotabato, told Catholic Station dxND here Friday that it was only yesterday that police forensic experts sent to Manila the DNA samples collected from her husband’s parents and the victim’s dental records for evaluation.


Project TABANG provides aid in BARMM’s SGA

NORTH COTABATO—A total of 400 residents in the Bangsamoro region’s Special Geographic Area (SGA) received
relief goods from the Project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) on Wednesday, July 14.
The distribution was specifically held at Barangay Dunguan and Barangay Tapodok, in the town of Aleosan, North Cotabato.
Each beneficiary received relief packs which contain 25 kilos of rice, 1 kilo of sugar and salt, packs of coffee, cooking oil, and monggo beans.
