COTABATO CITY - Members of a police-led special investigation task group now looking into Friday’s ambush of the governor of Lanao del Sur are optimistic they can soon identify and prosecute the people behind it. 

Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, told reporters Monday local officials in the province and traditional Maranao leaders have assured of their support to the SITG’s effort to put closure to the incident.

“The SITG is now working towards that goal,” Guyguyon said.

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Naglaan na ng mas malaking halaga ang Local Government Unit ng Pikit, North Cotabato para sa agarang pagkakahuli ng mga responsable sa pamamaril sa bayan.

P200,000 para kay Fahad Guimalon na 13-anyos na estudyante nitong February 14 at P200,000 rin para sa kaso ni Jose Neri Gonzales nito namang February 13.

TACURONG CITY --- Soldiers killed here Saturday a local terrorist wanted for the fatal ambush of a town police chief and an escort last year in Maguindanao del Sur and other heinous offenses, including coddling of drug dealers.

Abdulkarim Lumbatan Hashim, most known as Commander Jacket of the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, and a still unidentified companion, died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds sustained in the brief gunfight in the premises of the bus terminal here.

UNICEF is deeply concerned by the reported shooting incident that killed one child and injured two while on their way home from school in Pikit, North Cotabato. We offer our condolences to the family of the 13 year-old boy who died yesterday. The killing of innocent children is unacceptable and must stop.

COTABATO CITY - Probers are still clueless on Monday’s fatal ambush in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat of an election officer in a troubled town in Maguindanao del Sur province.

Haviv Macabangen Maindan, an ethnic Maguindanaon, municipal election officer of Sultan sa Barongis town in Maguindanao del Sur, died on the spot from bullet wounds when gunmen on motorcycles, positioned along a highway in Lambayong, shot his vehicle and immediately sped away.

MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday vowed to seek justice for its election officer in Maguindanao del Sur province who was shot dead in Lambayong town, Sultan Kudarat province.

"The Commission on Elections strongly condemns the brazen killing of Mr. Haviv M. Maindan, Election Officer II of Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao. The whole Commission on Elections commit to the family of EO Maindan that we will not rest until justice is served," the poll body said in a press statement.

TACURONG CITY  – Unidentified gunmen ambushed and killed Monday a municipal election officer of Maguindanao del Sur in an ambush while he was heading for home in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, police said.

Captain Jetro Doligas, municipal police chief of Lambayong, said Haviv Macabangen Maindan, municipal election officer of Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Sur, was driving his silver gray Toyota Fortuner when ambushed in Barangay Pingguiaman, Lambayong by still unidentified gunmen riding tandem on a motorbike at about 2 p.m.

COTABATO CITY - Two were killed, one of them a woman, while another was hurt in separate gun attacks in busy spots here Wednesday.

Col. Querubin Manalang, director of the Cotabato City police, said Thursday the 20-year-old woman, Munwarh Jordan Imam, and Arven Facturan, 36, both died on the spot from bullet wounds.

Imam and a companion, Cristel Mangubat, 19, were together in a tricycle, on their way home from the public market here early Wednesday, when men positioned along the route shot them with pistols.

Imam was killed while Mangubat was wounded in the ambush.

COTABATO CITY - MUNTIKAN NANG MAGKASAGUPA ang Philippine Army Special Forces at mga kasapi ng Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces o BIAF, ang armed wing ng MILF sa Maguing, Lanao del Sur noong Martes ng hapon.

Kinumpirma ito ng Lanao del Sur police office sa pamamagitan ng kanilang spokesperson na si Maj. Alvison Mustapha.

Ayon kay Mustapha, pumasok ang 39 na kasapi ng Army Special Forces Company sa Barangay Dilimbayan, Maguing, Lanao del Sur alas 4 ng hapon noong Martes nang hindi nag-coordinate sa MILF 103rd Base command.
