154 terrorists avail of rehab program

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao --- A large group of religious extremists, many of them bomb-makers, on Wednesday pledged allegiance to the government here in the presence of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.  

The 154 men first renounced their membership with the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and the Dawlah Islamiya before they promised to thrive in peace in their respective hometowns in the adjoining provinces of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat.

Drug dealer linked to terror group arrested in Lanao del Sur

BALABAGAN, Lanao del Sur --- Authorities seized P680,000 worth of shabu from a peddler linked to the Dawlah Islamiya, entrapped at Barangay Macao here noontime Tuesday.

Samsodin Pascan is now in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

He shall be prosecuted for violation of the Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The 52-year-old Pascan is a resident of Barangay Pabrica in Marogong, Lanao del Sur. 

Hundreds of Maguindanao villagers displaced by `rido’ hostilities

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao - Authorities are scrambling to settle a “rido” involving two heavily-armed Moro groups here whose gunfights over the weekend  displaced no fewer than 300 families.

Rido means clan war in most Southern Philippine languages.

Major Gen. Juvymax Uy of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division on Monday urged local officials to disengage the feuding groups to prevent the displacement of more residents in Barangay Sinditan here, scene of clashes that sent villagers running for their lives. 

Culprits in ambush of 9 persons in Maguindanao identified 

GUINDULUNGAN, Maguindanao --- The police have identified the main plotters of Saturday’s fatal ambush here of nine persons, now subject of an extensive manhunt.

One of the nine fatalities is Pegez Mamasainged, a senior member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

In a statement Sunday, the Maguindanao provincial police said the gunmen who ambushed the maroon Mitsubishi Montero and black Ford Ranger pick-up truck carrying the victims were led by Jordan Lintang Mama and his son, Morshid.

The older Mama is also a member of the MILF, according to local officials.

Troops capture 2 Dawlah Islamiya terrorists

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A bomb attack against government forces was foiled as two members of the Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group (DI-MG) were captured in a pursuit operation in the province of Lanao del Sur, the military reported Monday.

The 1st Infantry Division (ID) said in a statement Monday that 51st Infantry Battalion troopers led by Lt. Col. Fernando Payapaya together with policemen captured the two DI-MG members Sunday in Barangay Talao, Piagapo, Lanao del Sur.

Blast hits Pikit, North Cotabato

COTABATO CITY ----A powerful blast ripped through a residential area in Pikit town in North Cotabato at 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, director of the Police Regional Office-12, said early Monday that he had ordered the North Cotabato Provincial Police Office and the Pikit Municipal Police to cooperate in identifying its perpetrator for immediate prosecution.

No one was hurt or killed in the incident but the explosion that reverberated through a dwelling enclave along M. Abad Street in Barangay Poblacion Pikit caused panic among villagers.

Dawlah’s revenge for death of bomb-maker anticipated

BALABAGAN, Lanao del Sur - The military is anticipating retaliation by the Dawlah Islamiya for the death of a bomb-maker and the capture of two others in an encounter with Marine servicemen here Wednesday.

Major Gen. Juvymax Uy, commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, said Friday he has directed the 1st Marine Brigade to guard against a possible attack by companions of Saifudin Ayok, killed in a gunfight with Marines in Barangay Lumbac here.

3 Dawlah gunmen neutralized in central Mindanao in just 8 days

BALABAGAN, Lanao del Sur --- A team of Marines killed a  Dawlah Islamiya member in a clash here Wednesday, the third from the group that authorities had neutralized in just eight days. 

Brig. Gen. Jonas Lumawag, commander of the 1st Marine Brigade of the Philippine Navy, said Wednesday the slain Dawlah Islamiya gunman is a follower of Polo Alim, who is wanted for a number of criminal cases pending in courts.

Daulah Islamiya slain in Lanao Sur military ops

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao - A Daulah Islamiya extremist under the Maute Group was neutralized during an encounter with the 1st Marine Brigade troops at Barangay Lumbac, Balabagan, Lanao del Sur on February 02, 2022.

In an initial report, Brigadier General Jonas Lumawag, 1Marine Brigade Commander disclosed that while conducting focused military operations against the group of Polo Alim, a DI-Maute (Lanao) member with an existing warrant of arrest for murder, an undetermined number of armed men started firing at the government troops which resulted in an exchange of gunfire.

Army foils terror attempt, kills 2 Dawlah Islamiyah members in SoCot

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao - Two (2) Daulah Islamiya terrorists were neutralized during an armed encounter with the Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) troops on January 31, 2022 at Barangay Lapu, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

In a statement released by 6th Infantry Division, Major General Juvymax Uy, 6th ID chief and commander of the Joint Task Force Central aconfirmed the said report and added that the two terrorists identified as Zypol Nilong and Salahudin Usman were believed to be under Zaiden Jade Nilong, alias Aliboy from the DI- Maguid Group.
