ZAMBOANGA CITY - The military in Basilan has rescued an Indonesian teenager from the hands of terrorists on Saturday (June 3), the Western Midnanao command said. 

While conducting a focused military operation targeting Sulu-based Daulah Islamiyah-Abu Sayyaf Group (DI-ASG) subleader Mudzrimar Sawadjaan, a.k.a. Mundi, and Basilan-based ASG subleader Pasil Bayali, a.k.a. Kera, troops of the 5th Scout Ranger Battalion were able to seize the harboring position of the target at Sitio Lobloban, Barangay Guiong, Sumisip, Basilan and rescued an Indonesian National.

COTABATO CITY - Three alleged drug dealers were killed in a brief shootout with policemen early Thursday in Matalam town in Cotabato province. 

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, director of the Police Regional Office-12, said a police team was supposed to search for shabu and firearms in the hideout of Abdilkarim Unsil in Sitio Kisupit ng Barangay Marbel in Matalam, Cotabato, but neutralized him and his two companions instead when he resisted, provoking a gunfight. 

COTABATO CITY - Four local terrorists and a soldier were killed in a gunfight Thursday in Marogong town Lanao del Sur, just a week after an outlawed group threatened to attack villages in the area.

Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, confirmed Thursday that the clash between Army Scout Rangers and members of the Dawlah Islamiya in Barangay Piangologan in Marogong resulted in the death of four still unidentified members of the Dawlah Islamiya.

MARAWI CITY - Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr. told reporters Tuesday he is thankful to Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, director of PRO-BAR, for personally supervising Monday’s positioning of more policemen in Marogong, where thousands of residents evacuated to other towns, fearing an attack by members of the local terrorist group.

The Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region has deployed combat-ready policemen in strategic spots in Marogong town in Lanao del Sur that the Dawlah Islamiya has threatened to attack.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - North Cotabato Schools Division Superintendent Romelito Flores has condemned the murder in Pikit, North Cotabato of teacher Joel Reformado, 36, of Damalasak Elementary School and the wounding of his companion, Elton John Lapined, 37 of Mapagkaya Elementary School on Friday.

Sinabi ng PNP na ang dalawa ay nagtatrabaho sa palm oil farm sa Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao Del Sur.

COTABATO CITY  – Army and police bomb experts defused Thursday dawn two suspected improvised explosive devices left near the main gate of Husky Bus terminal here.

Colonel Querubin Manalang Jr, Cotabato City police director, said the plastic bag suspected to have contained the IED and a secondary bomb in a plastic container were found at about 3:40 a.m. by the terminal security guard and alerted the police.

A police official said bomb experts found two improvised bombs fashioned from “high explosive ordnance” with mobile phone as detonating device.
