New ARMM police director committed to peace process

MAGUINDANAO --- The new police director of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao on Wednesday promised to sustain the peace-building programs his predecessors started in support of Malacañang’s southern Mindanao peace process.Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac took over on Monday the directorship of the ARMM police from Chief Superintendent Agripino Javier, now the new police director of Region 10.Javier and other ARMM regional police directors who served before him supported extensively the government’s effort of addressing the Moro issue peacefully. Army turned police spokesperson now heads PNP-ARMM

CAMP PARANG, Maguindanao -- A former spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP) now heads the police office in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) after he assumed office replacing Chief Supt. Agripino Javier in simple turn over rites this afternoon. Chief Inspector Ronald de Leon, regional police spokesperson, said Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac replaced Chief Supt. Javier who wasreassigned to PNP Regional Office No. 10 in Cagayan de Oro City.

Escape plot causes cancellation of Koronadal detainees party, gift giving

KORONADAL CITY – Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City police director, has cancelled a scheduled Christmas party for detainees of PNP lock-up cell following an aborted escape try.Condes said he decided to cancel the party and planned gift giving tentatively scheduled on Dec. 18 was moved to uncertain date to ensure safety of all detainees.Four inmates, facing charges of illegal drug pushing, tried but foiled to flee the temporary detention facility after other inmates revealed the plot.He also temporarily shut down visiting hours as safety measures.

NDU nursing grad top 8 in 2016 NLE

21-year-old Notre Dame University Patricia Tillo Mangat promised after learning
the results of the 2016 Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) on Wednesday.

Mangat placed
third with an average of 85.00 percent in the exams sharing the spot with four
others.

The Philippine
Regulation Commission (PRC) reported that only 6,836 out of 14,322 examinees
have passed the NLE.

What? Free condom for school children?

KORONADAL CITY -- The government's plan of providingsecondary students with free condoms in fight against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)and HIV/AIDS doesn't make sense to South Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes, thus her strong opposition.The lady governor obviously expressed her displeasure over the proposal.For Fuentes, the plan will not do good and it sends wrong message to the young minds of school children.Instead, Fuentes said, condoms may be provided for free to lodging houses and inns for lovers to use and prevent the spread of STDs.
