COTABATO CITY --- An incumbent mayor in Basilan, Darusallam Lajid of Al-Barka, was killed while another mayor, Alih Sali of Akbar, was hurt in a gun attack in Zamboanga City on Monday morning.

The driver of Sali was also reportedly killed in the incident.

In an initial statement Monday, the Zamboanga City Police Office said the two mayors were attacked by four men on motorcycles in a seaside village in Barangay Baliwasan in Zamboanga City, just after arriving from Basilan via a small watercraft.

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – The newly appointed Amir and leader of Daulah Islamiya Terrorist Group, identified as a certain Asim Karinda alias Abu Azim, was killed in the latest armed clash with Joint Task Force Central forces at Barangay Dabenayan, Mamasapano, Maguindanao on the early morning of December 2, 2021.

Karinda replaced Salahudin Hasan as Amir and leader of Daulah Islamiya after Hasan was neutralized by military forces on October 29, 2021 at Damablac, Talayan, Maguindanao. He is also a trained IED fabricator and bomb maker.

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – A member of the Dawlah Islamiya Terror Group, who was later on identified as the son of DITG sub-leader Hassan Indal, was killed during an encounter with the Joint Task Force Central Troops at Sitio Ulangkaya, Brgy Ganta, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao on December 01, 2021.

AMPATUAN, Maguindanao - Gunmen killed a policeman in an ambush in Barangay Kauran here Thursday.

Lt. Rey Samson, acting chief of the Ampatuan municipal police, identified the victim as Cpl. Henry Mangaser Olindo, Jr., a member of the municipal police force in Lumbatan, Lanao del Sur.

He died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Olindo was a resident of Barangay Rosary Heights 6 in Cotabato City.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - The police arrested Tuesday one of the five suspects in the 2011 murder in a nearby town of Italian priest Fausto Tentorio.

Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, director of the Police Regional Office-12, said Wednesday the 65-year-old Ricardo Boryo Dorado, is now detained, awaiting prosecution.

Dorado was tagged in the 2011 fatal shooting in Arakan town in North Cotabato of Italian priest Fausto Tentorio.

COTABATO CITY - Six heavily-armed followers of an erstwhile politician in Maguindanao surrendered to the police Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, said Wednesday the gunmen are followers of former Assemblyman Sidik Ameril of the now defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The 29-year ARMM was replaced by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in early 2019 as a result of the peace process between Malacañang and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato --- Authorities shot dead a bomb maker in the Dawlah Islamiya terror group in a brief gunfight in Barangay Lapu here Thursday.

The slain Dawlah Islamiya member, Esmael Sambial, and 15 companions are wanted for acts of terror and other heinous offenses.

Sambial was good at fabricating improvised explosive devices that can be detonated from a distance using a mobile phone, according to Army and police intelligence sources.

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao – Police authorities here arrested a colleague who was allegedly engaged in illegal drug peddling during entrapment operation in Cotabato City Saturday night.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, police director for the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), identified the suspect as Police Corporal Jomar Moyet Chio who is assigned with the Sultan Kudarat Municipaql Police Station. 

Chio was nabbed during buy bust operation along Gutierrez Avenue, Barangay Rosary Heights 7, Cotabato City. 

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato  – A heavily armed robbery suspect was killed during law enforcement operation when he resisted arrest and traded shots with authorities Thursday, police said.

Lt. Colonel Rolly Oranza, Midsayap town police chief, identified the victim as Salvador Viloria Jr, a 24-year-old primary suspect in a robbery where the victims were two police officers.

“He was the primary suspect who took two service rifles of two police officers,” Lt. Colonel Oranza said of Viloria who was a friend of two police officers.

KORONADAL CITY - Mariing tinututulan ng Joint Task Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict o JRTF-ELCAC 12 ang panawagan na pagbawi ng pondo para sa NTF-ELCAC.

Napagusapan ito sa monthly meeting ng Task Force na bumalangkas ng resolusyon na pagsuporta sa National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conlfict o NTF-ELCAC.

Ipinahayag ng grupo ang kanilang pagtutol sa defunding ng NTF-ELCAC partikular na sa Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program o LGSF-SBDP.
