Kidapawan diocese celebrates Mindanao Week of Peace with "Bike for Peace"

The Diocese of Kidapawan invites everyone to join its "Bike for Peace: Let Justice and Peace Flow" event on December 2, 2023, at 6:00 AM. The event will be held in conjunction with the Mindanao Week of Peace, which runs from November 30 to December 6.

North Cotabato MNLF vs. MNLF gunfight: 2 dead

COTABATO CITY - Two members of the Moro National Liberation Front, one of them a barangay kagawad, were killed in an attack by companions in the same group in Midsayap town in North Cotabato province shortly before midnight Wednesday.

In a report on Thursday to the Police Regional Office-12, Lt. Col. John Meridel Calinga, Midsayap municipal police chief, said Tho Puyo Singh and the volunteer community watchman Bayao Mohammad Uka both died instantly from multiple bullet wounds.

The slain Singh was a newly-elected kagawad in Barangay Kudarangan, an isolated area in Midsayap.

Cotabato Light hosts 1st Rodeolympics 2023

COTABATO CITY – In a bid to improve proficiency and develop more skills in performing power lines development in its franchise area, the Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light) hosted the 1st Lineman’s Rodeolympics 2023.

Themed "Powering the future: Line Workers Igniting Excellence," the activity was participated by 60 linemen from Cotabato Light accredited line service providers.

It was held at the Cotabato City Bangsamoro Stand Alone Senior High School compound in Barangay Datu Balabaran, Cotabato City on November 18.

'Spoiled pansit' downs 147 attendees to Bukidnon wedding rite

 

COTABATO CITY - More than a hundred villagers, among them children and indigenous tribespeople, got sick after feasting on food served at a wedding on Saturday in Talakag town in Bukidnon, now confined in hospitals.

The 147 patients first complained of nausea and painful abdominal spasms before they started throwing up in less than two hours after ingesting the traditional “pansit” served to them at the venue of the wedding in Sitio Calapat in Barangay Tagbak in Talakag at past noontime Saturday.

DSWD assures aid for Mindanao quake victims; reported deaths rise to 7

MANILA – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Saturday assured families and individuals affected by the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that hit parts of Mindanao of timely assistance in the form of cash, food and non-food items, among others.

DSWD Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Romel Lopez made the assurance during the weekly Saturday News Forum at Dapo Restaurant in Quezon City.
