BAGAMAT SINABI ito ni PHIVOLCS Cotabato Head Engr. Rainier Amilbahar, posibleng ang malakas na lindol na naranasan kahapon sa Davao Occidental at mga kalapit na lugar ay ang inaasahan na 'the big one'.

Ang Davao Occidental kasi ay nasa dulong bahagi ng Mindanao na sakop din ng Cotabato trench.

"Ang magnitude 7.2 na lindol ay malakas na po yun, sana hanggang dun lang iyon."

Pero, sinabi rin nito na huwag pakampante dahil ang lindol ay unpredictable, ibig sabihin, walang sinumang makapagsasabi kung kailan ito mararanasan.

GEN. SANTOS CITY - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded 39 aftershocks of the Magnitude 6.8 (not 7.2 as earlier reported) that hit Sarangani town in Davao Occidental Friday.

The latest came at 5:15 am and was recorded at magnitude 3.7 about 35 kilometers west of Glan, Sarangani.

Phivolcs recorded the strongest at Magnitude 3.9 which came at 4:24 or 10 minutes after the Magnitude 6.8 struck and traced about 28 kilometers west of Maasim, Sarangani.

GEN. SANTOS CITY – A couple was killed when a concrete wall collapsed at the height of a Magnitude 6.8 earthquake (earlier reported by Phivolcs as Magnitude 7.2) rocked the southern Mindanao region Friday afternoon.

Police identified the fatalities as Danny Ginung, 26, and his partner Jane Ginung, 20, both from Barangay Sinawal, Gen. Santos City.

Capt. Danny Balofiños, chief of Gen. Santos City Police Station 4, said minutes after the earthquake his office received a report about a couple buried by fallen concrete walls in Barangay San Isidro.

COTABATO CITY -- Another five hundred grams of shabu were seized and five drug suspects arrested during a buy-bust operation in the vicinity of Chowking fast-food, Purok Central, Sinsuat Avenue, Cotabato City, on November 11, 2023.

The suspects, Usman Camit Musa, also known as Usmer, Al Raji Mlok Bayam, Kenedy Manampen Baraguir, also known as Keny, Bailing Saavedra Bagundang, and Sahara Bagundang Tiang, are now detained at the PDEA BARMM Jail Facility, while cases for violations of Republic Act 9165, as amended by Republic Act No. 10640, are being prepared against them.

COTABATO CITY - The police is now in custody of one of at least six suspects in the burning of seven high-end vehicles parked in different spots in General Santos City late Thursday.

General Santos City police officials said on Saturday that the 30-year-old Caydence Clark Gulmatico, now detained, had promised to help locate his accomplices, subject of an extensive manhunt now.

TACURONG CITY  -- After weeks of surveillance, an active member of Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was arrested here Saturday by anti=narcotics and police operatives during buy bust operation and seized from him over PHP2 million worth of shabu.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Soccsksargen Region Director Aileen Lovitos identified the suspect as Norodin Midtimbang, 30, a resident of Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao del Sur and member of the para-military unit.
