ITCZ affects Palawan, Mindanao

WEATHER TODAY | The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), an area where winds coming from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres meet, will affect Palawan and Mindanao. According to PAGASA, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao, Western Visayas and the province of Palawan. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.


Another food poisoning case? Noodles down 24 in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY – At least 24 persons have been downed by noodles and rice Saturday in
what officials believed was another case of food poisoning in a mountain town
in South Cotabato, officials said Sunday.

The victims are
now confined in a private hospital in Barangay Edwards, T’boli town in South
Cotabato, according to Romar Azarcon, Church leader from Surallah.


Inter-tropical Convergence Zone still affecting Mindanao

Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Visayas and Mindanao.This will bring rain showers over Mindanao, Western and Central Visayas and over the provinces of Palawan.The rest of the Luzon including Metro Manila will have good weather apart from isolated rain showers.Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Storm Soudelor was located at 1,570 kilometer from Philippine Area of Responsibility(PAR), moving westward at 25-kph. It is forecast to enter PAR on Wednesday.


Another oil price rollback seen next week

MANILA -- Oil firms are expected to cut pump prices of their products by no less than 50 centavos per liter on gasoline next week as global prices continue to tumble due to oil glut in the international market.In an advisory, Eastern Petroleum President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fernando Martinez said that diesel and gasoline (per liter) prices may decrease by close to a peso and more than 50 centavos.He noted that world oil prices continue to be low until August -- due to the oversupply situation in the market.However, Martinez said that oil prices for September delivery is expecte


Cotabato Light starts rotational brownout

COTABATO CITY – The Cotabato Light and Power Company
(Cotabato Light) has started implementing rotational brownout in its franchise
area, the power firm announced today.

Arlene Hipega, Cotabato Light corporate communications
officer, told DXMS Radyo Bida that the five hour scheduled brownout was
rationed in all feeders in its franchised area.
