3 Pikit pupils hurt as school fence collapses

KIDAPAWAN CITY — Three elementary pupils in Pikit, North Cotabato were hurt when a concrete wall of the public school collapsed on Thursday morning, a disaster officer today said.Tahira Kalantungan, Pikit Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), identified the victims as Al Bashir Dagulos, Norhan Dematingkay and Abdullah Jiasim, grade five pupils of Pikit Central Elementary School (PCES).Kalantungan said the three pupils climb the concrete wall to watch various vehicles passing along the highway near the school premises when the freak accident happened.As the wal


Guiani-Sayadi lauds PDEA-ARMM in anti-drug campaign

COTABATO CITY - Lawyer Cynthia Guiani Sayadi has challenged officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Musim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) to improve its capability in the campaign against persons involved in illegal drugs.Sayadi, currently the Cotabato City administrator,made the comments in an interview by DXMS Radyo Bida at the sidelines of the destruction of dangerous drug evidences in the city.She said PDEA-ARMM was effective in its campaign in drug buy bust andarrests but most of the cases it filed in court were dismissed due to technicalities.

MLANG, North Cotabato-A member of the Philippine Army and a civilian were wounded when still unidentified suspects pumped bullets in a videoke house beside the national highway on Wednesday morning, police official said. Senior Inspector Bernard Tayong, North Cotabato Police Provincial Office (NCPPO) spokesperson, identified the victims as Corporal Pastrana Espiritu, of 7thInfantry Battalion Charlie Company based in Barangay Tawantawan here. According to Tayong the incident transpired at the Degayo Videoke House at around 12:10 am. Cpl. Espiritu was hit twice in the head.
