KORONADAL CITY -– A woman was injured when two men riding tandem on a motorbike lobbed
a hand grenade at a roadside videoke bar in Polomolok, South Cotabato on Sunday
night, police said.

A day earlier,
an improvised bomb exploded at the back of a parked cargo truck in front of a
restaurant on national highway Barangay Magsaysay. Nobody was hurt.

Responding
policemen found fragments of improvised bomb, a mobile phone used as triggering
device and two unexploded improvised explosive made of 40 mm grenades.

KORONADAL CITY -- A woman whose live-in partner was detained at city jail for illegal drug possession tried, but failed, to outsmart jail guards when she attempted to sneak in prohibited substance at the jail facility this morning, jail officials said. Koronadal City Jail Warden Gechris Abanilla told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that Joy Castaneda showed up at the jail compound at about 6:20 a.m. to visit and to hand over food stuff to her partner Garry Tan.

KORONADAL CITY -- Police mobility in this city has been boosted with the turn over of new 4X4 Isuzu D-Max patrol car from the local government unit, officials said. Senior Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City police director, received the key of the brand new patrol car from Mayor Peter Miguel during simple ceremonies Monday. The turn over took place during flag raising ceremonies of the city government in front of the Koronadal City hall with all employees in attendance. Condes lauded the continuous support of the city government, headed by Mayor Miguel, for the city PNP.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- Lawmen cut and burned 243 marijuana shrubs in Malungon town in Sarangani over the weekend, the sixth in Region 12 in just two weeks.
Supt. Romeo Galgo, Jr., information officer of the Police Regional Office 12 here, on Monday said they learned of the marijuana farm in Barangay Bla’an in Malungon town from vigilant villagers who even volunteered to guide policemen to its location.

MANILA -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) started on Sunday the printing of 85 million ballots to be used in the Oct. 31, 2016 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls.With this, Comelec Chairman Juan Andres Bautista said the printing has commenced at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City despite uncertainties on whether or not the scheduled polls will push through. The long and short of it is we must follow the law, whatever the law may be. Right now, the law says we must have an election on Oct. 31.
