KIDAPAWAN CITY --The scenario is now well defined and the picture is getting clearer.Davao City, the world's largest city in land area and widely considered as one of the safest cities in the world, is under siege.Early Friday evening, as I was driving alone to Davao City from North Cotabato, the Task Force Davao choke point in Toril District suddenly stopped the flow of vehicles entering the city stranding hundreds of travellers including myself.

MATANAO, Davao del Sur-- Government forces have been alerted in Davao del Sur and North Cotabato following the arrest of a ranking official of the communist New Peoples Army leader and the killing of his follower in the village of Barangay Buri.Lt. Colonel Arnold Argamosa, commander of the 39th Infantry Battalion based in North Cotabato, said an alert status has been declared by Eastern Mindanao Command for possible retaliatory attacks.

COTABATO CITY – The
National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) today said power situation
of Mindanao has improved with the restoration back to the Mindanao grid of Agus
1 and Agust 2 hydropower plants Monday.

As of Tuesday, Mindanao has 93 MW
excess power supply.

KORONADAL CITY -- A South Cotabatoprovincial government worker has been accused of allegedly sexually molestinghis two daughters, aged 14 and 16, police here said.The 45-year-old suspect was arrested Friday afternoon on the basis of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Renato Tampac of Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Koronadal City.Senior Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City police director, told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that the suspect, arrested at about 3 p.m.

KORONADAL CITY -- An abandoned box along Alunan Avenue here triggered bomb scare Wednesday evening.Supt. Barney Condes, city police director, said the box contained garbage and other disposable materials.Quoting witnesses, Condes said a woman on board a tricycle was seen unloading the cartoon near the gate of Notre Dame ofMarbel University.Police was alerted and cordoned off the area at past 8 p.m. until the bomb experts disrupted the suspected improvised bomb.

KORONADAL CITY - A fire of still undetermined origin gutted down a residential house in Barangay San Isidro here Tuesday afternoon, DXOM-AM Radyo Bida reported today.The fire hit at about 1:30 a.m. when the village was experiencing power outages, according to fire officials.Initial investigation showed the fire destroyed about P150,000 worth of properties of house owner Jojo Castromayor.Castromayor said he was fixing his motorbike outside his home when he heard a mild explosion emanating from his bedroom.
