Cardinal Quevedo statement on MSU Marawi bombing

The massacre at the Mindanao State University Gym in Marawi City during Sunday Mass this morning is a crime that literally cries out to heaven.

Perpetrated on the 1st Sunday of Advent, a season of hope, and at the beginning of the Mindanao Week of Peace, the massacre is the most terrible and most damnable terroristic crime against innocent worshippers on a Christian holy day.

It is a tragic re-enactment of the insane bombing in the Jolo Cathedral during Sunday Mass several years ago.

Voices will call out for revenge.

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms the inhumane bombing inside the Mindanao State University - Marawi City Dimaporo Gymnasium while our peace-loving Christian brothers and sisters were attending Sunday Mass.

During Mindanao Week of Peace, an attack on a religious gathering within an academic institution is just an act of sheer terror that claimed the lives of three individuals and injured at least nine more.

100 children with disabilities in Cotabato City receive essential kits from MSSD

COTABATO CITY — A total of 100 children with disabilities (CWDs) were given essential kits by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) during the culmination activity of the National Children’s Month (NCM) on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Center for the Handicapped in this city.
 
This initiative promotes inclusivity and empowerment of Bangsamoro children’s health and well-being, aligned with the celebration of the NCM, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661.
 

Bangsamoro town hall to rise in Mapun island

COTABATO CITY – The most isolated municipality in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will soon have its own new municipal hall building.

On Wednesday, Mayor Suraida Muksin of the island town of Mapun in Tawi-Tawi has received part of the P30 million worth of check from BARMM Interior Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo for the construction of the municipal building.

Former guerilla-medics now barangay health workers

COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro government has initially employed 1,049 former combatant-medics of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, among them women, as barangay health workers in provinces and cities under its jurisdiction.

A physician in the 80-seat regional parliament, Kadil Monera Sinolinding, Jr., told reporters on Wednesday that the MILF medics had been provided with accreditations by the Ministry of Health-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao as a prelude to their enlistment this week as barangay health workers in their respective municipalities.

Moro villagers glad to have large market building from BARMM

COTABATO CITY - Residents of an erstwhile hotbed of secessionist movements, among them former Moro guerillas reintegrated into mainstream society, were elated having a new P25 million worth two-storey market building where they can conveniently sell their farm products.

The P25 million market building is located in Barangay Binasing, which is under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao but is in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.
