North Cotabato fake traffic enforcer falls

KIDAPAWAN CITY -Police operatives arrested in an entrapment operations along the highway in Tulunan, North Cotabato a traffic enforcer for alleged extortion, around 9am, Friday. Superintendent Danny Peralta, provincial director of the Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO), identified the suspect as Wilkens Torres, 26, of Ozamis City who identified himself as member of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) of the Philippine National Police.

Koronadal seeks na'l gov't support for bridge repair

KORONADAL CITY -Mayor Fernando Miguel has asked the national government to help the city restore the damaged bridges due to floods. Miguel said the city government could not afford to repair and rehabilitate the two bridges of Concepcion and Namnama which were totally damaged by the rampaging waters. But other partially damaged bridges and roads destroyed could be repaired by the local government units using local funds. The immediate repair of Concepcion bridge is vital in economic activities of the province along with the town of Lutayan in Sultan Kudarat, he said.

4 hurt in Mlang highway mishap

MLANG, North Cotabato -- Four people were hurt when a passenger van they are riding turned turtle and plunged into a roadsiderice field Wednesday afternoon. Ferdinand Pinol, Mlangadministrator, said the passenger van was heading to the town proper from nearby Tulunan, also in North Cotabato, when its driver lost control of the steering wheel along a curve portion of a highway in Barangay Sangat.Pinol said before the vehicle plunged intothe rice field, it hitmahogany tree in front of Sangat Elementary School.

Soldiers recover rebels’ getaway motorbike in Magpet

KIDAPAWAN CITY -Elements of the Army’s 57thInfantry Battalion recovered a motorcycle believed used by communist guerillas as get-away vehicle after they ambushed two weeks ago government troops in a remote village in Magpet, North Cotabato. Captain Manuel Gatus, head of the 57thIB civil military operations, said the recovered vehicle was issued to Private First Class Wilfredo Ligsay of Charlie Company who was among those wounded during the ambush on June 10 in Barangay Noa, Magpet.

unscrupulous practices to avoid endangering the health of the public. The warning
