Guiani to new PNP directorand Ensure safety of Cotabatenios
COTABATO
CITY – Newly installed Cotabato City police director today vowed
to improve the peace and order situation of the city even as he appealed for all
out support” from the citizenry and stakeholders.
Senior
Supt. Rex Anongos, city police director, assumed office in a simple
ceremonies replacing Supt. Rolen Balquin who was re-assigned to the police
regional office in Gen. Santos City.
”I
will do everything in my capacity as police director to maintain law and order
in the city and restore public confidence on law enforcers,” Anongos told
reporters.
Cotabato
City Mayor Japal Guiani Jr has four marching orders for the new police
director.
”Maintain
law and order in the city for all residents, ensure the safety of pupils in and
out of school grounds, ensure the safety of traders and investors, and,
contained crimes against life and against property,” Guiani said of his marching orders.Guiani
also wanted the city police to be pro-active against the proliferation of
illegal drugs which he believed pushes persons to commit crimes to satisfy
craving for prohibited drugs.
Guiani
said his marching orders simply aim to ensure the safety of everyone in the
city, day in day out and make the community more business friendly.
”If
our law and order is okay, everything follows, investors will come in, people
have jobs, children are safe in coming to schools and development comes in,”
Guiani said.
