PIKIT, North Cotabato – Displaced families in Pikit’s
remote village have received relief assistance from the local government unit
but refused to return home following conflict involving Moro clans.
Tahira Kalantongan, chair of Pikit municipal disaster
risk reduction and management council, said the affected families, about 400 of
them, were given rice, noodles and canned goods.
Some of the displaced families temporarily stayed at
the barangay hall of Bulol, Pikit while others sought shelter in relatives’
homes.
