SK solon proposes prawn, crab nursery in Kalamansig

COTABATO CITY –
Sultan Kudarat 2nd district Rep. Arnulfo Go has filed a bill in
Congress seeking to establish a prawn, crab and inland fishing nursery in the
coastal town of Kalamansig to help increase marine preservation and production as
well as livelihood to the locals.

In filing
House Bill 1873, Go said through his bill the practice of traditional fishing
in Kalamansig and nearby areas, could be improved.

2 teens end life in North Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN CITY
– Two cases of suicide involving teenagers were reported in President Roxas and
Makilala, all in North Cotabato.

Police reports
said a teenager committed suicide in President Roxas Thursday by hanging after
he was allegedly abandoned by his unidentified girl friend.

A first year
college student of Makilala, North Cotabato also committed suicide when his
girl friend allegedly broke up with him, police said.

Eva, mother of
the Pres. Roxas teenager, believed there was no foul play in her son'scase.

Cotelco explains unscheduled power outages

KIDAPAWAN
CITY – A spokesperson of the North Cotabato Electric Cooperative today said
power interruption is imminent in its service area anytime.

We
cannot avoid unscheduled power interruption,” Vincent Baguio, speaking for Cotelco,
said on power outages that occur every now and then.

He
said some power lines of Cotelco had been affected by fallen trees, fallen
electric posts and acts of nature that led to power interruption in some of its
service area.

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato - Aman police believed was not in his right sensesintentionally killed her mother in a remote village here Friday, police said today.The 49-year-old mother Susan Sinoy was hanging washed clothes in the village ofCentral Bulanan, Midsayap, North Cotabato on Friday morning when the bizarre incident happened. Families displaced by MILF infighting get relief assistance

PIKIT, North Cotabato – Displaced families in Pikit’s
remote village have received relief assistance from the local government unit
but refused to return home following conflict involving Moro clans.

Tahira Kalantongan, chair of Pikit municipal disaster
risk reduction and management council, said the affected families, about 400 of
them, were given rice, noodles and canned goods.

Some of the displaced families temporarily stayed at
the barangay hall of Bulol, Pikit while others sought shelter in relatives’
homes.

Tacurong City honors loyal gov't servants

TACURONG CITY – In recognition of their loyalty
to government service, 73 employees of the Tacurong City local government unit
were awarded and recognized at the end of the Civil Service Month celebration.

In a statement, TacurongCity Mayor Lina Montilla said the awardees received Loyalty Service memorabilia” in recognition of long years of service
to the people of Tacurong City.

It was part of the Programs on Awards and

Koronadal Comelec dismayed over low SK list up turn out

KORONADAL CITY - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) here was dismayed over the low turn out of the 10-day voters registration for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) election. Atty. Richard Opinion, Koronadal City Election officer, said despite massive information dissemination his office failed toreach the targeted number of SK registrants.
