Establishment of Bangsamoro disability affairs office proposed in BARMM

COTABATO CITY ― To ensure the full protection of the rights and privileges of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the region, some Bangsamoro lawmakers proposed a measure aimed at establishing an office dedicated to PWDs.

Over 30K Lanao Sur indigents get social pension from MSSD

COTABATO CITY - In its ongoing commitment to support the vulnerable elderly sectors in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted another round of subsidy distribution under the Social Pension (SocPen) Program for Indigent Senior Citizens.

A total of 30,712 elderly beneficiaries individually received PhP 3,000 during the simultaneous payout in Lanao del Sur from October 10 to October 13, 2023. The provided amount is intended for their monthly subsidy for the 1st semester of the year.

BARMM MSSD breeds community self-reliance

COTABATO CITY - THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is breeding socio-economic self-reliance at the community level.

BARMM’s Ministry of Social Welfare and Development (MSSD) has enlisted 1,290 indigents into financial literacy training held simultaneously in October in all the region’s six component provinces.

“The program not only empowers individuals economically but also promotes self-reliance within the communities,” the MSSD said in a press statement.

BARMM’s 1st air transportation summit pledges to elevate airline services

COTABATO CITY – Efficient air transportation and heightened safe operations were the primary goals of the 1st BARMM Air Transportation Service Summit, organized here by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
 
Anchored on the theme "Enriching BARMM's Future: Catalyzing Growth and Development through Enhanced Air Transportation Services", the summit was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the ministry’s Civil Aeronautics Board of the Bangsamoro (CABB) and Bangsamoro Airport Authority (CAA).
 

Sinarimbo: Macacua asks DOF to name new MagNorte provincial treasurer

COTABATO CITY – Maguindanao del Norte Gov. Abdulraof Macacua has asked the Department of Finance to name new provincial treasurer after the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF-12) appointed treasurer refused to report for work.

“Gov. Macacua, the sitting governor, has asked DOF to name the new provincial treasurer so the provincial government can make use of its national tax allocation,” Minister Naguib Sinarimbo of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government said during the “Sindaw Bangsamoro” program aired over DXMS-AM and DXOL-FM on Friday, Oct. 13.

Driver’s licenses from BARMM now recognized outside of region

COTABATO CITY  — Drivers' licenses issued by the Bangsamoro regional government are now being recognized outside the region.

Residents of the Bangsamoro provinces were elated over this development as it is a problem that hounded them for a long time.

Bangsamoro Transportation Minister Paisalin Tago and officials of the regional police announced on Friday that the issue had been resolved together by the central office of the Department of Transportation and the regional government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Marawi Compensation Board receives claims worth P9.1B

ILIGAN CITY – The Marawi Compensation Board (MCB) has received claims from the 2017 siege amounting to more than PHP9.1 billion.

In a statement on Friday, MCB Secretary Sittie Raifah Pamaloy-Hassan said the board has collected 6,048 claims from July 4 to Sept. 30 this year which represented the loss of lives and structural damage during the five-month siege.

As of September, she said they have evaluated 362 claims out of the total number which amounts to more than PHP1 billion.
