Cotabato City educator is one of Ten Most Inspiring Teachers in the Philippines
Cotabato City’s Gomer Carcueva was
recognized recently at one of the Ten Most Inspiring Teachers in the
Philippines.
Carcueva was among 38 nominees for the
award from different places in the country from which 10 were chosen.
Carcueva said the other nominees came
from Manila, Pangasinan, Masbate, Negros Oriental, Dumaguete, Cebu and Bohol.
He was the only nominee from Mindanao.
Dave Paseda of the Seda Youth Leadership
International, which organized the awards along with the National Youth
Commission, said Carcueva made it to top ten because of his commitment and
passion as a teacher in molding youth leaders under the Department of Education
in Cotabato City.
Carcueva was a teacher at Notre Dame of
Cotabato before working at the DepEd’s Cotabato City Schools Division.
Aside from a trophy, Carcueva received a
cash prize of P100,000 and 3 international study tours related to education at
Brunei, Nagara, Japan and Israel.
