Tampakan under state of calamity after child dies of dengue
KORONADAL CITY - A state of calamity has been declared in Tampakan, South Cotabato due to rising cases of dengue, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council today said.A child was reportedly died due to complications after days of high fever.MilaLorca, PDRRMC officer, said the town council has approved a resolution putting the entire town under state of calamity so the local government unit can use its calamity fund to contain the dengue cases.Initial reports showed that more than 100 residents have been downed by dengue.Most of the affected residents were from BarangaysPoblacion,Maltanaand Kipalbig.The municipal health office has conducted several fogging operations to destroy breeding grounds of dengue causing mosquitoes.
