Rubber tapper killed in Makilala highway mishap

MAKILALA, North Cotabato - A rubber tapper was killed when a speeding SUV hit him Tuesday night along a highway here, authorities said.The incident occurred along portions of the Cotabato-Davao highway in Barangay Kisante, Makilala, North Cotabato at 6 p.m., according to Makilala PNP.Makilala traffic investigatorNoel Taladoc identified the victim asDelatore Makla of SitioPangayasan, BarangayKisante. He died while getting medical attention at a nearby hospital.

Taladoc said the SUV with license plate NTO-370 was driven by Dennis Salde, a businessman from Kidapawan City. He voluntarily surrendered.Makla was the third fatality in highway mishap in Makilala since Sunday.
