Maguindanao folk benefit from extensive outreach mission
MAGUINDANAO - More than a thousand Muslim, Christian and Lumad families benefited from a two-day inter-agency outreach mission in Buluan, Maguindanao.The activity, dubbed Mindanao’s People’s Day, was a joint initiative of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor, or PCUP, and the office of Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu.Personnel of the health and social welfare departments extended services to the beneficiaries of the outreach mission, also assisted by the Philippine Information Agency-12 and the office of Gov. Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.The event, held November 7 to 8, was also capped off with supplemental feeding of school children and patients who availed of the free medical and dental services extended by participating government agencies.Mangudadatu said he is grateful to officials of the PCUP, the PIA-12 and different offices under the executive department of ARMM for embarking on the humanitarian mission in Buluan, the capital town of Maguindanao. We immediately agreed to host and help facilitate the activity because it can boost the cordiality between Malacañang and the Moro sectors in Maguindanao and boost the Mindanao peace process of President Duterte, said Mangudadatu, now in his third and last term as provincial governor.Mangudadatu said credit for the successful conduct of the two-day event also has to go to the Maguindanao provincial police office and units of the Army’s 6thInfantry Division that helped push it forward.
